WWW Wednesday

Hi Everyone,

Today I’m glad to join in on a popular meme from WordPress called WWW. This meme is currently handled by Taking On A World of Words, and is simple in concept.

Simply follow the 3 W questions below:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

All right, let’s get this thing started!

Currently Reading:

Just last night, I started reading Sovereign by April Daniels, the second book in her Nemesis series.

Blurb:

Only nine months after her debut as the superhero Dreadnought, Danny Tozer is already a scarred veteran. Protecting a city the size of New Port is a team-sized job and she’s doing it alone. Between her newfound celebrity and her demanding cape duties, Dreadnought is stretched thin, and it’s only going to get worse.

When she crosses a newly discovered billionaire supervillain, Dreadnought comes under attack from all quarters. From her troubled family life to her disintegrating friendship with Calamity, there’s no lever too cruel for this villain to use against her.

She might be hard to kill, but there’s more than one way to destroy a hero. Before the war is over, Dreadnought will be forced to confront parts of herself she never wanted to acknowledge.

And behind it all, an old enemy waits in the wings, ready to unleash a plot that will scar the world forever.

There’s something about Daniels’s writing that I simply love, and even just a few short chapters in, I’m already experiencing all the feels for this one! So excited to find out what happens next.

Recently Finished:

The most recent book I finished was Animorphs #7, The Stranger by K.A. Applegate.

Blurb:

Okay. Rachel and the other Animorphs have finally found the new entrance to the Yeerk pool. They’ve even figured out a way to sneak in. The infamous roach morph. But they didn’t count on roaches being a Taxxon delicacy. This time escape doesn’t look so good.

And then everything stops. Everything. The feasting Taxxon, the human-Controllers, the Hork-Bajir. Time. Now Rachel, Cassie, Marco, Jake, Tobias, and Ax are in for their wildest trip ever. They’re going to get the chance to decide whether they want to stay on Earth and fight the Yeerks. Or go to another planet. And the guy giving them the choice says he can save them. Now all they have to do is make the choice…

As always with this series, I really loved this book. Rachel is a strong, fierce character with heart to boot, and I look forward to continuing this series!

Next on my TBR:

This one’s a little tricky. I typically rotate between a book of my choice, another Animorphs book, or something random from the library (Bookish Blind Date).

I’ll most likely either pick something at random from the library, or I’ll do a quick read of an Animorphs book, the next of which is Megamorphs #1: The Andalite’s Gift.

What’s your WWW like? Have you read any of the books on my list? Feel free to share below, and happy reading!

  1. I like the way the first one sounds. I never read anything by April Daniels before. But I remember reading one by Applegate a long time ago. Can’t remember the name, only that i think it was in space.
I finished Muse of nightmares a few days ago but haven’t picked anything up yet.

    • Oh my goodness, April Daniels is an amazing author. Sovereign is the second book in her Nemesis series and I’m about a third and loved it from page one, just like the first book.

Oh KA Applegate, I am aware she has several other series, but haven’t quite gotten to those just yet.

How did you enjoy Muse of Nightmares?
