Good Afternoon Everyone,
It’s time for another weekly progress update!
So this week has been a bit crazy as always, but a tad different this time around. I’ve been working hard on things, but reading and writing have kind of taken a backseat this week due to personal plans.
Honestly, I’ve been trying to get out more and have something of a social life. I find that the more I get into reading, writing, and blogging, the more I tend to abandon my social life, so I’m trying to reach for that holy grail called balance. It’s been very rewarding so far, and I’ve been happy to reconnect with friends I haven’t seen in a bit while continuing dating as well.
On the reading side of things, I am currently reading Randall Krzak‘s Dangerous Alliance.
I’m about halfway through and I’m really enjoying it! I’m fortunate enough to be a part of Randall’s blog tour, so I’ll be reviewing this book as well as his first in the Bedlam series on 6/28/19. Definitely check it out this Friday!
This week I also watched Mortal Engines, a post-apocalyptic thriller.
While this movie definitely had its flaws, the concept was original and exciting. Definitely worth a watch. If you’d like to check out my review, you can find it here.
On the writing side, things are progressing well. I finished plotting out Chapter 8, the last chapter in my first act, and I’m currently writing the last scene in the chapter.
So far, I’ve got about 21,500 words in (about 86 pages), which means that I’ve officially surpassed the word count and length of my first Reaper book. Hooray! Once I get through the rest of the first act, I’ll be going back to polish what I have so far (guesstimate of about a week), then it’s on to plotting out the rest of the book!
As far as my debut novella goes, sign up is still going on for my blog tour in August if you’re interested in a free copy in exchange for a review. Simply click here or check out R&R Book Tours.
Of course, you can check out my debut novella Reaper here before the blog tour. Chills, thrills, Reaper has both in abundance! Take a moment to check it out and read the free preview on GoodReads or Amazon.
Well, that’s the past week for me. How did your week go? What writing projects are you working on? Do you have a great book, tv, or movie recommendation? Tell me all about it!
Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Sunday!
