Camp Nano Kick-Off!

Hi Everybody,

Guess what today is? It’s the first day of Camp Nano for July 2019! Hooray!

For those of you not familiar with Camp Nano or NaNoWriMo, it’s basically a way for writers and authors to set a monthly goal for themselves and push to publish some great works. It can also be a great way to make some writer friends. For a more detailed explanation, click here.

Anyways, I’m posting today because I signed up for Camp Nano at the last minute! I said I wasn’t going to do it, but thanks to the slightest of pushes from my great friend Victoria, I’m all in!

I did have some reservations about joining, mainly because I’ve won Camp Nano before and I’m usually pretty good with setting goals for myself/achieving them. But I figured why not push myself a little bit harder?

My Nano Goal

The last time I did Camp Nano, I prepped about a month in advance and had a plot ready to be written. It worked out really well that way, and I met my meager goal of 10,000 words easily.

However, this time I’m stuck in between my first and second act of writing in my sequel of Reaper, so my goal will be counted in hours.

And really, isn’t that the glory of doing Camp Nano? You don’t have to set a word count. You can do minutes, hours, pages, whatever suits your fancy.

So at first I set my goal for 31 hours, just an hour a day. While it would be slightly challenging, I woke up today and upped it to 40 hours, just to push myself that little bit further.

How About You?

So what about you guys? Have you signed up for Camp Nano? If so, what are you working on? What’s your goal? Tell me all about it!

Thanks for stopping by, and good luck campers!

    • OMG I’m so happy to educate you! Writers do this multiple times a year. There are two camps as far as I know, April and July. Then in November it’s NaNoWriMo, which is considered the hardcore one. I never do that one, but it’s fun to see how close people get to their goals!
