Weekly Progress Update!

Hello Everyone,

It’s Sunday already, can you believe it? This week sure has flown by!

As usual, let’s get into a week of all things Jaunts & Haunts.

On the personal side of things, this week I just kind of plugged along at work. There are more changes happening with our new manager, so I’m hopeful things will turn out for the better.

This weekend was also a lot of fun. I spent a bunch of time with my married friends. On Friday, I played some board games with my friends Stacy and Bryan. It was refreshing to play some longer board games (a lot of people don’t like anything that takes longer than 15 minutes, which is blasphemy if you ask me!) like Citadels, Azul, and Valeria Card Kingdoms. I definitely recommend those games if you’re a gamer.

On Saturday, I attended a murder mystery party with my married friend Marylena and Mason (with whom I went to UMKC with). They are always a breath of fresh air, and who doesn’t love a nice murder mystery to celebrate this time of year?

Books

On the bookish side of things, I finished The Institute by Stephen King, The Ballad of Bonnie Rotten by Sean K. Vlk, and started The Andalite Chronicles by KA Applegate.

The Institute was slightly disappointing for me overall, but it was an enjoyable read (my review is here).

The Ballad of Bonnie Rotten was a fun short story, and I’m looking forward to reading more of this author’s work in the future (my review is here).

So far I’m loving The Andalite Chronicles (not really surprising given my everlasting love for all things Animorphs), though it did take me a second to adjust since I haven’t read anything in this series for at least a month. Can’t wait to blaze through this one more!

TV/Movies

On the watching side of things, this week I watched Hell House III.

Hellhouse3

Though entertaining, I felt this final installment in the franchise wasn’t as good as the first two.

I have watched a bunch of other movies by the way, I just need more time to write up my thoughts on them. Best believe there will be more scary movie reviews in the coming weeks ahead!

My Writing

On the writing side of things, I met my weekly goal of 2,000 words! Actually I got just under 3,000 for the week (12 pages!), so I’m very happy about that. I finished my chapter 14, 15, and started my chapter 16.

Overall, my book is currently at 44,000 words, or 175 pages. Super happy I’ve gotten this far, and excited to continue!

Currently, I’m at the very tail end of what I can write comfortably, so once I finish my chapter 16, I think I’ll take the rest of the week to try and flesh out the next few chapters.

That way, when I go on my writer’s retreat in one week, I’ll be able to hit the ground running.

That’s a Wrap!

All right, so that was it for my week. How did yours go? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Anything interesting you’d like to share?

Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by everyone, and Happy Sunday!

    • Lol, thank you! I started my Animorphs journey the second time when I saw a bunch of people on Goodreads reviewing their childhood favorites. I’m in it for the long haul!

    • Haha, thank you! Well, some posts I have pre-made, mainly with movies. But yeah, everything else I’m just flying around trying to get done.

Truth be told, my blog will be slowing down and most of the increased blog posts were just for Halloween.

I’m going to enjoy taking a slight breather here and there.
