Weekly Progress Update!

Morning Blogging World!

How did your week end up? Good I hope!

My week was a bit unpleasing from Tuesday to Friday due to some work stuff, and I’m trying to explore some interesting options for myself in the future.

There’s a part of me that has always wanted to run my own business, but I’m starting at ground zero with a ton of questions. I’m definitely going to look into this further and even if it doesn’t turn into anything, I just feel like I have to do this. So if you have any pointers, I’m definitely all ears!

Personal stuff aside, let’s get into some highlights from this week!

Books

On the bookish spectrum, things have been at a standstill unfortunately. I’ve been juggling a beta read of my good friend Randy Krzak as well as beginning Heaven Bound by Montre Bible. I also shared my review of The Celestial Assignment that I read last week.

Midway into the week I had to drop Heaven Bound for a moment and concentrate on finishing the beta read, but I just finished it last night so I’m amped and ready to get some reading time in.

The Celestial Assignment was a fun read. I’ve never read anything by Theresa Braun, so this was an interesting ride. Feel free to check out my review here.

TV/Movies

On the watching spectrum, this week was really good!

I watched Aladdin (Disney Plus) and the first season of Locke & Key (Netflix).

Despite having some slight reservations, Aladdin was a hit for me and brought back all that great nostalgia I was looking for.

Locke & Key was Ah-mazing, and I am recommending it to anyone who’s ears aren’t bleeding from me gushing about it nonstop. Great series that I can’t wait to see more of!

My Writing

On the writing spectrum, I did crazy well this week. I wrote a total of 4,480 words, or just about 18 pages! I wrote about half of my Chapter 25 and almost the entirety of my Chapter 26.

Besides my writer’s retreat from last year, I’m pretty sure I broke my record this week, much in part to having Monday off and getting in plenty of writing time.

To date, my Reaper sequel is at 77,216 words, or at about 308 pages long. I have two more chapters, then I’m done with my second act and ready for my third one, which will be short and sweet. Super excited things are amping up!

In the meantime, feel free to check out the first novel here.

That’s a Wrap!

All right, so that was it for my week. How did yours go? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Anything interesting you’d like to share?

Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by everyone, and Happy Sunday!

  1. I haven’t read anything since Tuesday and I haven’t finished a book all week. I did finally watch To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You on Netflix. Other than that I’ve been doing pretty much nothing just recovering from my surgery.

  2. Awesome job on the writing. Good luck finishing up that sequel.

This week I did a lot of novel editing and a little bit of new writing and never even got to the short story I wanted to polish up and send out. It seems editing always takes me longer than I expect!

The business advice I always hear is to work for a year in the business/field in which you want to be an entrepreneur. Can’t say I have any personal entrepreneurial experience, though, unless a lemonade stand in 4th grade counts.:-)

    • Thanks friend!

Yeah, writing projects sure can take a lot longer than we think. At least you’re working hard at it. Editing really is the worst.

Nice, thank you for the tidbit. I’ve been working long in finance so I think that’s the direction I want to go.
