Series Blurb:

Sydney is a teenage girl navigating the trials and tribulations of high school while dealing with the complexities of her family, her budding sexuality, and mysterious superpowers just beginning to awaken deep within her.

My Review:

Characters

four-and-a-half-star-rating-md

Characters were great. A bit cliché, but clichés exist for a reason.

Plot

five-star-rating-md

Simple, didn’t try to be more than it was. Definitely not an epic, think smaller scale.

Flow

four-and-a-half-star-rating-md

Overall, can’t complain. Good, bingeworthy episodes that flow into one another pretty flawlessly.

Overall Impression

To be honest, I skipped over this series the other day due to the misleading cover. This show seemed like some kind of contemporary romance (*vomit*), but it’s actually about a young woman with supernatural powers and her struggles.

I’ve been a huge fan of Sophia Lillis since her part in IT, but I’m telling you this series was truly great so far! The plot was simple and didn’t try too hard. I really appreciate that with all the shows we have at our disposal nowadays.

I watched this in one go. Yep, the entire thing. Episodes are short at 20-ish minutes each and flow really great into each other. The action, mystery, and characters were great, and I can’t wait to see what happens next! Let’s hope they have like 100 more seasons, because I’m hooked.

If you have two hours to kill, definitely watch this one!

Final Score

9/10
