WWW Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Everyone,

By this point I bet you’re already breathing in that relaxing soon-to-be Friday air. We’re almost there, you can do this!

Until then, let’s take a look at some good reads, shall we?

Every Wednesday I participate in a meme called WWW Wednesday.

This meme is a challenge where you simply share what you’re reading, what you’ve recently finished, and what you hope to read in the near future.

www

The meme is currently handled by Taking On A World of Words, and anybody can participate.

Simply read the 3 W questions below and answer them should you want to:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

On the run from trumped-up murder charges, Alex Dawson and his boyfriend Sev settle in a small town in Vermont on the recommendation of Sev’s mob-boss cousin Bella. Chickadee is so tiny that it has only one major employer in the depths of the Great Depression: Trask & Co. Maple Sugar Mill. It’s a quiet place. That is, until Walter Trask is found in his own maple grove with his head smashed in.

Alex doesn’t want to have anything to do with the death, but things get much more personal when Bella is falsely arrested. Determined to free her and even the scales, Alex scours the town for clues as to what really happened. He quickly learns that small towns have big secrets that people may be willing to kill for. And if that weren’t bad enough, Alex and Sev’s once-sweet relationship is turning bitter under the combined pressures of isolation, anxiety, and jealousy. Alex needs to find the true murderer quickly before Bella is turned over to the feds, or worse, Sev walks out of his life forever.

Opinion so far:

This is the second book in Thea McAlistair‘s Caro Mysteries, and so far I’m really having a great time despite only being a little over 10% in. Definitely a strange setup in the beginning and loving it!

Blurb:

“The Threat” is a new Animorph named David. At first he’s a valuable warrior. But as crucial battle plans unfold, the Animorphs realize they’ve made a terrible mistake.

My Opinion:

This was a strong second book in the David trilogy. Plenty of YA Scifi chills and thrills here! Definitely worth a read.

Animorphs #21 Review

Next on my TBR:

Opinion so far:

Hmm, what madness is this? All Animorphs books?

Yep, that’s right! After I finish my current read, I’ll be taking the plunge into my Animorphs reading week! I’ve only shown these four covers, but I’m really not sure how many books I’ll be able to tackle in just seven days.

Knowing myself, I can typically blaze through one in a couple hours if I’m not busy, but this weekend is supposed to be extremely busy, so I may extend the Animorphs greatness if I feel the need to.

During this week I will also be finalizing my TBR choices for the rest of the year, though I’ve already made a lot of good progress on finding reads I simply must read.

Wish me luck!

That’s a Wrap!

Okay folks, that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.

What does your reading pile look like? Have you read any of the books on my list? Do you have any opinions or feedback on the books I chose? Feel free to share in the comments, and don’t forget to subscribe or follow my bookish journeys!

  1. I just finished Angelus Rose by Loren Rhoads and Brian Thomas. It’s a challenging but worthwhile dark, mythological, sexy, and sometimes scary book full of deep philosophical and theological themes. Phew!

Now I’m reading a lighter book, Critical Decision by Richard Mabry. It’s a fast paced, Christian, medical thriller.

    • I looked into Angelus Rose and that looks interesting. Not quite sure if it’s my kinda book yet, but it’s intriguing for sure!

Oh cool! Like a serial killer thriller or pandemic thriller?

  2. I just finished Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan. It was a long one and took me nearly 2 weeks to read it, but that was mostly because of a lot going on right now. Happy Friday, Jonny!

    • Oh nice, I’ve never head of that one. Did you enjoy it?

I don’t blame you. I have a ton going on, but ironically my plans for the weekend got cancelled due to coronavirus concerns. Looking forward to a light weekend with lots of time to myself.
