Series Review: Feel Good, Season One (Netflix)

feelgood

Series Blurb:

The series follows recovering addict and comedian Mae, who is trying to control the addictive behaviors and intense romanticism that permeate every facet of her life.

Great funny and quirky characters with realistic flaws and strengths.

Plot

A bit simple for a plot, but very enjoyable and easy to watch once you get started.

Flow

Pretty much seamless, no straying subplots or diversions.

Overall Impression

Wow, I was super impressed with this first season!

I watched this at the recommendation of my friend Stacy (who is rarely wrong about good movies/series), and she was right once again! This series is based on a real comedian that I’ve seen several stand-up performances of in the past.

All of the characters in this show were unique, quirky, and funny. Obviously Mae was hilarious, but I think George’s roomie Phil was exceptionally funny in a non-obvious way.

The plot was pretty simple. Mae is a recovering addict and comedian who tends to jump into relationships and other bad situations. We’re along for the ride, and every minute was extremely entertaining, whether it’s the comedy stand up, the heartache, or goofy adventures.

I can’t wait for season two and definitely recommend this show to anyone looking for a good watch!

Final Score

8/10
