March In Hindsight: Bookish Conquests and Other Things
March is over people, can you believe it?
Okay, seriously, March is something I think we all want to move on from. This whole Coronavirus thing is continuing to amp up, and there was a lot of paranoia and fear all around the world as things progressed this past month.
Hopefully soon we’ll see an end to that, but in the meantime we get to isolate ourselves and binge, binge, binge on books, movies, and everything in between.
So what has your friend Jonny been up to all March? Well, let’s take a look!
Writing Conquests
First and foremost, writing was a huge hit this month!
After quite a while, I finally finished the rough draft of my Reaper sequel, yay!
I also just got started with editing for my first polished draft. I kind of blazed through my first chapter and am currently on my second chapter of thirty-one total chapters. That being said, my first act is already in first polished draft form.
I originally did that thinking I had all the time in the world, but decided to just finish up on the entirety of my book before going back because it was taking too long.
The real challenge will be once I hit my second act, but I’m sure I’ll do just fine!
While I edit, why not check out the first Reaper novella where it all began?
It’s got chills, thrills, and my favorite theme of all, Halloween!
Bookish Conquests
On the bookish side of things this month, I kicked some serious butt! I read a total of 13 books and 2 short stories.
I went on a major Animorphs binge with my readathon while I was on my writer’s retreat, and that really attributed for my progress.
But overall, I enjoyed almost every single book I read this past month. Lots of great recommendations, so check them out if you’d like a nice read!
The Hork-Bajir Chronicles Review
St. Valentine, St. Abigail, St. Brigid Review
That Seriously Obnoxious Time I Was Stuck at Witch Rimelda’s One Hundredth Birthday Party Review
Movie & Series Conquests
On the watching side of things, I managed to review three movies, a documentary, and a series this month.
What a great month for watching stuff! I watched a lot of things in different genres, but I ultimately enjoyed each and every one of them. All are worth a healthy binge watch, so feel free to check my reviews!
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark Review
Betty White: First Lady of Television Review
That’s a Wrap!
All right, there goes the month of March. How was your month? Did you read or see something in my conquests? Do you have any recommendations for books, tv, or movies? As always, feel free to comment!
Happy Reading and Watching, everyone!

Great month, Jonny. Very excited to hear how well Reaper’s sequel is coming along.
Thank you!
Right now I’m on chapter 3 of editing but I’m getting stuck in small places, so I’m just marking them up for now.
