Weekly Progress Update!

Good Morning World!

I hope you’ve had a nice weekend so far, and I hope it’s not over for you yet! I managed to get tomorrow off, but I am going to clock in to work for a little bit to keep up with things.

This week was really all that bad for me personally. I took time off through Tuesday for my move and birthday, and I finished unpacking and setting up my furniture and current décor.

I’m so proud of how my reading nook looks that I can’t help but share with you.

It still has a ways to go, but I’m very happy! PS: Ignore all the cat stuff haha

Alright, let’s get into this week’s reading, writing, and watching updates!

Books

This week has been a whirlwind in books! I read one book, two novellas, and a short story.

Animorphs this time didn’t quite live up to my expectations, despite the fact that it was entertaining.

Gale was really great, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it.

Voltage was disappointing for me, but with how young the author is, I’m hopeful we’ll see great things from him in the future.

Jokertown totally floored me by how great it was. I have a new series to start reading!

I’m also currently doing my buddy read of Please Don’t Tell My Parents I’m a Supervillain

While I’m having fun, I’m also having some trouble establishing a good reading flow. Stay tuned!

TV/Movies

In terms of watching, this week’s focus went more to books, but I did review Birds of Prey.

This movie was action-packed and quite a bit of fun. While I don’t think it broke the mold of a typical superhero movie, this was quite a memorable experience. Definitely worth a look!

My Writing

Writing went pretty well this week.

I finished Chapter 12 that I was having issues with and am about halfway through Chapter 13.

I’m once again at another crossroads in the story that may take me some time to decide what to do, though I did know this would happen. For now I’m going to summarize what I currently have for Chapter 13 and possibly 14, then decide what changes need to occur.

It just seems a bit unnecessary for me to polish something if I’m going to change quite a bit.

That being said, once I get through this hump things should get a bit easier.

While you wait, why not check out where Reaper started with my debut novella?

Chills and thrills abound in this Halloween-themed YA horror story.
For some, the Boogeyman is just a creepy fairy tale, but after a monster takes his sister from the basement, Gregory knows that the Boogeyman is all too real.
Can he save his sister from the monster before it’s too late?
Reaper is currently on sale, just $0.99 on Amazon until 5/27/20. If you’re interested, check it out here.

That’s a Wrap!

All right, so that was it for my week. How did yours go? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Anything interesting you’d like to share?

Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by everyone, and Happy Sunday!

  1. Your reading nook looks so cozy! I bet you have a hard time leaving it once you setting in with a good book.

Birds of Prey sounds pretty fun. This week I watched Dark Light on Netflix. It wasn’t the best horror movie I’ve ever seen, but it was entertaining and worth the watch.

    • Thank you! I plan on getting a nice cozy blanket to go with it and expand the decorations a bit, but I really love it and am so glad I did this instead of a dining room.

Yeah, I love Harley despite being more of a Marvel man.

Oh I’ve seen that on Netflix but haven’t given it a shot. Okay, it’s going on the list!

This weekend I watched a bunch of movies on HBO that I haven’t seen before. They are stepping it up, at least for now lol.

    • Hehe thank you! I’m really enjoying it, though Ajax thinks it is just a big cat bed for him.

Yeah, I’m coming to terms with why our buddy read is something of a struggle and I think I’ll be able to pick up the pace, especially tomorrow.

Dang, good job on the reads! You and I are killing it!
