WWW Wednesday

Hey World,

How are you doing? I hope you’re having a productive week. As for me, I’m having surgery today so I’m posting a bit earlier than usual. Wish me luck! I’m kinda freaked out because I’ve never had a surgery before.

Alright, on to the post!

Every Wednesday I participate in a meme called WWW Wednesday.

This meme is a challenge where you simply share what you’re reading, what you’ve recently finished, and what you hope to read in the near future.

www

The meme is currently handled by Taking On A World of Words, and anybody can participate.

Simply read the 3 W questions below and answer them should you want to:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading:

Blurb:

Monsters are real. And they steal children.

A young girl disappears without a trace.
The police have no clue as to what might have happened.
The severed family is thrown into despair as weeks go by, and still no sign of her.
The girl’s older brother begins looking for her on his own.
Soon he becomes convinced that a supernatural being has taken her.
Unfortunately, it turns out he’s right …

The Girl Who Wasn’t There is a gripping supernatural thriller.

Opinion so far:

Alright, so technically I haven’t started reading this yet. I plead the fifth! I was hoping to get to this before the end of October, but with just four days left I don’t want to push myself too hard.

I have to help a writer friend with their ARC before I can start on this one, so I’ll be hopefully starting this next week at some point.

Recently Finished:

Blurb:

Daniel is desperate for a fresh start. So when a mysterious figure slides a note under his door offering the position of groundskeeper at an ancient estate, he leaps at the chance, even though it seems too good to be true. Alarm bells start ringing when he arrives at Craven Manor. The abandoned mansion’s front door hangs open, and leaves and cobwebs coat the marble foyer. It’s clear no one has lived here in a long time…but he has nowhere else to go.

Against his better judgment, he moves into the groundskeeper’s cottage tucked away behind the old family crypt. But when a candle flickers to life in the abandoned tower window, Daniel realizes he isn’t alone after all. Craven Manor is hiding a terrible secret…

One that threatens to bury him with it.

Opinion so far:

Craven Manor was a great intro to Darcy Coates’s work. I loved the chills and thrills, and the characters were executed pretty darn well too. This is perfect for a Halloween read, so definitely give it a look if that’s your thing.

Book Review: Craven Manor

Next on my TBR:

Opinion so far:

Up next on my TBR is some more Animorphs. I have to keep soldiering forward if I’m gonna finish the series this year, so here we go! I’ll most likely do a readathon later next month.

After that, I’ll be digging into Tiffany Renee Harmon’s Suburban Secrets. It sounds like quite the thrill and I’m a big fan of hers after interviewing her and reading a short story of hers. (The interview is right here.)

Last but certainly not least is The Starlight Watchmaker. I’ve heard a ton of good things, and I’ve owned this ebook for some months now, so I’m two-birds-one-stoning it. Go me!

Wish me luck on my reading journeys, and I wish you the same!

That’s a Wrap!

Okay folks, that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.

What does your reading pile look like? Have you read any of the books on my list? Do you have any opinions or feedback on the books I chose? Feel free to share in the comments, and don’t forget to subscribe or follow my bookish journeys!

Happy Reading Everyone!

  1. Oh no I’m sorry to hear about you having to have surgery. I hope it’s nothing serious. I have had several surgeries throughout my whole life that I guess I’m so used to it that it doesn’t freak me out. I understand it being your first one you being a little worried my husband was the same way when he had his first surgery last year and then 2 weeks later had to have another one. You’re in my thoughts and I hope for a speedy recovery.

I am hoping that I can finish Fairest by Marissa Meyer today that way I can start The Wicked King by Holly Black because I would like to have that one finished this month as well but we shall see.

    • It’s okay. I’m being driven home now and everything is feeling hunky dory. I’ll have some minor pain for the rest of the week but should be okay.

      Good luck with your read!

      • I’m glad all is ok. Sending positive vibes and hoping for a speedy recovery.

Thank you!! I need to stop procrastinating and actually pick up my book otherwise I’m not going to finish it today lol.

      • Thanks boo. Mainly I’ll just be a little slower for the next week, but I’ll be okay. Dont you worry about me. 🙂

Haha, I’ve been procrastinating lately too
