WWW Wednesday

Good Morning Hump Day Lovers!

For many of us, today is an even better Wednesday because it’s our Friday for the workweek.

I’m so excited to have some extra time off and although I’ll mostly be using the time to finish edits on the Reaper sequel, once I’m done I’ll be able to breathe a little bit easier.

Anywho, you came here for books, so books you shall have!

Every Wednesday I participate in a meme called WWW Wednesday.

This meme is a challenge where you simply share what you’re reading, what you’ve recently finished, and what you hope to read in the near future.

www

The meme is currently handled by Taking On A World of Words, and anybody can participate.

Simply read the 3 W questions below and answer them should you want to:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Diego Conner was at school when his world changed. As soon as his classmates started killing each other, he ran. Then, when he got home, his parents tried to eat him. They weren’t zombies though. They were alive and could be killed like any other living thing. He chose to simply call them “the changed”.

The only people he knew who didn’t turn were his friends, Sheena and Wes. With their families gone, the fifteen year olds are forced to look out for each another, constantly moving and hiding in the shadows. Eventually, though, they decided to search for survivors and colonize a local prison. Along the way, they quickly learn that the brainless, flesh-eating monsters that roam the streets are the least of their worries after the change.

Opinion so far:

I’m just over halfway through and so far I am enjoying the overall story. I will say that the flow is a bit discombobulated for me, especially with dialogue, so I’m not exactly blown away, but having some fun. Hoping to finish this by Friday. Stay tuned for my review!

Things were already really weird. Fighting aliens. Battling to save Earth. And still trying to be normal. Marco, the other Animorphs, and Ax are almost used to it. Almost. But things are changing. The Yeerk invastion of Earth started out passively. Secretly. But now, everything seems to be stepped up. Even Marco’s father is talking about some top secret project at his job. Something about developing Zero-space…

Marco doesn’t even know whether his father is a Controller. But he does know he’s not going to let the Yeerks win this one. They’ve already got his mother. And Marco will do anything it takes to save his father. Anything…

Opinion so far:

This book was a solid and memorable installment in the Animorphs saga. Not only was the action and mystery excellent, but big things are finally happening, signaling the beginning of the end of the series. I highly recommend if you love Animorphs!

Next on my TBR:

Opinion so far:

Before I explain my upcoming TBR, I think it’s worth mentioning that I’m going to finish Animorphs next month. It may not seem like it since I still have about 10 books left, but I’m going to do it even if it takes an act of God.

Besides that, I’m happy to say that I’m starting up my buddy reads once more! Life got a little crazy for all of us involved for a few months, but through our combined love of everything bookish we are resurrecting the segment. I just need more conversations about books in my life, can you blame me?

Up first is The Ten Thousand Doors of January, a buddy read between me and Iseult Murphy. The blurb drew me in immediately. I mean, a mysterious book? Doors that can open to other worlds? I’m already drooling. My library is closed for Thanksgiving, so just before they closed yesterday I nabbed the ebook version to read. Pretty crafty, huh? 😉

After that, I’ll be reading Renegades by Marissa Meyer with Gigi aka The Beachy Reader. I’m not sure if Gigi has read anything by Marissa Meyer, but I have not and purchased a paperback of this at the beginning of COVID lockdown. That’s a long time for me not to read! Anywho, we’re both really excited about the book and I can’t wait to dig in!

Last but certainly not least is Domna by Tammie Painter. Although I have read plenty of short stories by Tammie Painter and am starting to catch up on my Kindle TBR, this one has been collecting dust and it’s long overdue that I give one of her full-length novels a read. I can’t wait!

Wish me luck on my reading journeys!

That’s a Wrap!

    • Me too!

Yeah, it’s the end of a long reading journey. I’m glad I did it but at the same time i dont think I’ll take on a huge undertaking that like anytime soon. I want to wander around the book world for a while and be a bit more free in my choices.
