WWW Wednesday

Happy Hump Day, Readers!

This is the last 2020 hump day, can you believe it? I hope you’ve got some safe yet fun plans made for New Year’s. I’m doing a virtual game night with my best friends Stacy and Bryan. Whatever you end up doing, I hope you enjoy the time and an extra day of rest. Alright, on to the post!

Every Wednesday I participate in a meme called WWW Wednesday.

This meme is a challenge where you simply share what you’re reading, what you’ve recently finished, and what you hope to read in the near future.

www

The meme is currently handled by Taking On A World of Words, and anybody can participate.

Simply read the 3 W questions below and answer them should you want to:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading:

Blurb:

A fight for power. A battle for loyalty. A plot that could cause it all to crumble.

Although he’s won the solonship, Sirius soon discovers others are poised to viciously claim the title as their own.

Catapulted into a world of danger and temptation, Sofia discovers her only chance of survival is to stay one step ahead of her enemies.

But in Osteria, new perils lurk around every corner and plots don’t always strike down their intended victims as Sofia discovers her ambition may cost her far more than she expected to pay.

Opinion so far:

I’m just over a quarter of the way through this book, and already I’m loving the tension. There’s an all-out war going on, and the stakes are extremely high for Sofia and Sirius. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Stay tuned for my review. I’m hoping to have this installment finished sometime on Friday.

Recently Finished:

Blurb:

After barely surviving his previous appointment, Sirius claims being forgotten may be the safest place in the violent turbulence of Osterian politics. But Sofia’s ambitions remain steadfast and she refuses to accept the gods have destined her to waste away in obscurity.

Just as Sirius settles into the peace of a rural life, an old friend offers him the chance to inherit the title of Solon if he’s willing to fight for it. Will Sirius take the chance, or will he opt to stay safe? More importantly, will Sofia let him have a choice in the matter?

Opinion:

Although this wasn’t my favorite in the series to date, I thoroughly enjoyed this read. The plot twists were really great, and the characters were strong. Political upheavals galore!

Book Review: Domna, Part Three: The Centaur’s Gamble

Next on my TBR:

Opinion so far:

I’m really excited about the new year and my reading freedom after finishing the Animorphs series. January will primarily be something of a catch up month on works I’ve been meaning to get to from late last year. Just as a note, I’m going to finish the Domna series before reading any of these.

First up will be Skyward by Brandon Sanderson. This will be a buddy read with Gigi aka The Beachy Reader, and I’m super excited about this one. Gigi and I haven’t really been liking our picks for buddy reads up to this point, so we went big on this one. It’s also my first Sanderson read!

After that is Past Legends by A.F. Stewart. I absolutely loved Eternal Myths and can’t wait to delve into this mythological tale! If it’s anything like Eternal Myths, it’ll be an instant favorite for the new year.

Last but certainly not least is 7 Weeks in Hell by Iseult Murphy. I hope I enjoy this one as much as I did with 7 Days in Hell. Let the blood flow! *evil laughter*

Wish me luck on my reading journeys, and best of luck to you as well!

That’s a Wrap!

Okay folks, that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.

What does your reading pile look like? Have you read any of the books on my list? Do you have any opinions or feedback on the books I chose? Feel free to share in the comments, and don’t forget to subscribe or follow my bookish journeys!

  1. I’m currently reading Anne of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery. It’s a buddy read and I’ve already read this weeks chapters so I’ve been spending the last few days of the year taking a little break from reading that way I can start fresh next year.

    • Oh nice! I’m glad you’re getting a little extra time to yourself just before new years. I’ve been reading a series by Tammie Painter called Domna, but without a huge series like Animorphs on my back, things feel really easy breezy. I like this feeling. 🙂
