Hi Readers!

It’s been a while, so I thought I would stop by and share a quick writing update on the sequel to The Ruins.

Now that my events for the year are over, I hit the ground hard with writing in these past few weeks. My summer word count was 10,000 words, but I’m happy to say that I’m just under 32,000 words (about 128 pages).

I just finished writing the first draft for Chapter 12, but I need to switch back to plotting mode and chisel out the bigger details of the book since I’ve only plotted things out in detail through Chapter 13.

Despite the big task ahead of me I’m really excited that things have moved so rapidly. Without book events dipping into my writing time I’ve been able to get back into a routine of writing daily, and that has definitely helped. I am hellbent on having the sequel completed and published sometime in 2026.
