Resolutions, Anyone?

Hey guys,

I was just thinking of goals for next year and I’m curios, do you have goals you want to meet? Feel free to share in the comments if you feel comfortable talking about it.

Okay, here are some of the random ones I’ve been thinking about:

  • Publish the sequel to The Ruins if at all possible. If I keep working at the story like I have been lately, I think I might be able to pull it off.
  • Do some writing retreats! I’d love to do at least two writing retreats next year (here’s my last one). It’s essentially me in a cozy retreat on my own for a weekend, and I find it really therapeutic!
  • Keep Saving! I think that we can all agree that the current landscape of the US is a little scary. So one thing I find comfort in is budgeting and saving for a rainy day. I’ve done pretty okay this year, but I really want to continue that dedication going forward should anything scary happen. My undergrad was in Finance, so it fits me since I’m a numbers nerd. I love math (also nerdy)!
  • Give Myself a Break. If you’ve got a hobby, I’m sure you know that working full time and pursuing it with your spare time can eat up all your time. I’ve been struggling with that this year, and I’ll be doing less events to allow myself more breathing room and time to write. Sometimes you just gotta remind yourself to be human and enjoy life a bit. All work and no play, yada yada.

And uh, yeah, that’s it! Good luck with your goals for next year. You can do this!

  1. Good luck with all your goals Jonny!! I stopped setting goals years ago because I always fail.

    • Thank you bestie! I totally get it. I only wanted to do goals for stuff I had a pretty good chance of accomplishing. I definitely don’t want to stress myself out!
