Hi Readers!
My last writing update was just over a month ago, but I’ve hit another milestone!
The goal from my last update was to start from the beginning of my unfinished first draft of the sequel to The Ruins and polish until I reached where I’d last left off. Guess what? I’m all caught up!
Over the past month it’s been great to start from the beginning, correct inconsistencies, and tighten up my writing with some editing. I’m feeling much better about the strength of the story, and this novel currently sits at just under 52,000 words, or around 206 pages.
From here on out I’ll be doing a writing sprint from Chapter 21 to the epilogue (which is technically Chapter 34). I hope to get through this process at a good speed and from there I’ll be evaluating future edits (including alpha/beta reads) and start to form a decision on a solid publication date.
