WWW Wednesday
Happy Wednesday Everyone!
We’re halfway through the week, and that light at the end of the tunnel known as the weekend is in sight!
That being said, let’s shake things up with another round of WWW Wednesday!
As a quick reminder, this meme is a challenge that is currently handled by Taking On A World of Words, and it’s really simple and fun to participate in.
Simply read the 3 W questions below and answer them:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
A brief note, I am currently on an indie kick, meaning I will be reviewing indie authors’ work over any other more established authors. Indie authors to the front of the line!
All right, let’s get things started!

Terrorist groups such as Abu Sayyaf and Jemaah Islamiyah have flourished in recent years with new recruits joining them and ISIS-affiliates at an alarming rate. Blended operations by various Asian countries have forced the groups to work together to identify a new operational base.
They seek an island nation to call home, one where they can plot against countries who oppose their ideals. They found a target, a small nation-state, perfect for their needs: The Republic of Singapore.
Before anyone can respond, the ambassadors of the United States, Great Britain, and Australia are kidnapped from their residences in Singapore. Right index fingers of each victim are sent as a warning. Any attempt to recover the ambassadors will result in the removal of additional body parts.
Bedlam Charlie team leader, Evelyn Evinrude, leads the group to rescue the ambassadors and capture the local leaders of Abu Sayyaf and Jemaah Islamiyah. Can Bedlam succeed or will events escalate, resulting in more deaths?
Opinion so far:
I’m about a quarter of the way through this book, and there are several elements I am really enjoying. One of the victims of a terrorist organization is suffering from amnesia, and any chapter with her in it seems to blaze by for me. Looking forward to finishing this week!

This riveting middle-school zombie thriller is told through the eyes of Daphne, an Autistic twelve-year-old girl. Feel what she feels, and see what she sees as this adventure keeps you on your toes. Daphne isn’t just your typical twelve-year-old girl. Her Autism helps her experience the World differently, and when undead creatures attack she discovers what the true power within herself really is. Join Daphne as she learns how to live in this strange new world with new senses while figuring out her powers and fighting for the people she loves.
My Opinion:
I really loved this middle-grade fiction. I mean, zombies, powers, and the power of family? What’s not to love? I even got to sit down digitally with the author and have an interview! Definitely recommend this book for an enjoyable light read.

Following the Quake of ’79, a terrible force came to the city of St. Charles. This was the Living Poison.
In Lilac Chambers, it may have found the perfect host. As she finds herself changing, becoming increasingly dangerous to everyone around her, it becomes apparent that her state of being is no accident of nature. She is becoming a prime vehicle for the Living Poison’s destructive swath through the streets of St. Charles.
Detective Brandt McCullough has seen the Living Poison’s brutality. John Sutterfield, ringmaster of Sutterfield’s Circus of the Fantastic, is discovering its malignancy festering within the very circus he founded. These two are the only ones who might stand in the way of a force greater than anything they have ever known, one which threatens to wash the streets in red and swallow the city into chaos, but the stakes may be higher than either of them can imagine.
St. Charles—indeed, the world—may tremble.
My Opinion Up Front
I’m already super enthusiastic about this book, primarily because I met the author himself at Crypticon and he told me all about it! I mean, the cover, the blurb, I couldn’t be more excited about this.
Also, you may be seeing an interview with the author himself quite soon. 😉 Keep your eyes peeled in the near future!
That’s a Wrap!
All right peeps, that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.
