Weekly Progress Update!

Happy Sunday Funday Bookworms!

sundayfunday

It’s time for another progress update on all things Jonny! This week has been kinda nuts, but there’s a lot of great stuff going on with me.

On a personal level, I am still doing well managing my stress and haven’t gotten sick due to it. Yay me! I’ve also been trying to see the positive side of life in general and I’m slowly getting better at it. Sometimes you just have to focus on something super simple, like how pretty the sky looks today or that it’s not hot as hell outside.

I’m still a work in progress, but I’m making strides.

Books

On the reading side of things, I am currently reading Carnage in Singapore by Randall Krzak.

I’m about halfway through it and am really enjoying it! This might even be my favorite out of all the books in the Bedlam series. Keep your eyes peeled for my review in the next few days!

TV/Movies

This week I finally broke my restless hiatus from tv and movies. It feels great to enjoy a good movie again, and I’ve actually decided to make a small change.

I’ll be posting reviews of a broader spectrum of genres going forward. I don’t really see any harm in doing this, and there are so many great movies out there that aren’t in the horror realm that its really a missed opportunity if I don’t review them and spread the word.

That being said, I’ll still continue to keep a closer eye on chilling and thrilling content for all you horror fans out there.

Alright, so this week I watched the movie Hell House.

I felt like this haunted house movie really lived up to my hopeful expectations. It had tons of chills and thrills to please, and I definitely recommend checking it out if you have a subscription to Shudder.

My Writing (Camp Nano)

On the writing side of things, Camp Nano is almost over! Can you believe it? This month has just flown by!

I’m pretty much just wrapping up the last few hours of my goal, and the sequel to Reaper is turning out to be a really interesting journey so far.

I reached the end of my second act last week and have started going back and filling in more details where I can. At the moment, my second act stands at 13 additional chapters (could be one or two more chapters depending on how I break things up). Based on my calculations (assuming a 3000-word goal for each chapter), the first and second act alone will be long enough for my second book to be an actual novel, not a novella this time around. It’s super exciting!

Also, on the polishing of my first act, I am on the last chapter of edits, but had to go back further to fix some small things.

Overall, I’m super happy with the progress I’ve made, and I think that this is a good sign for my second book.

My Other Published Work

Speaking of my writing of Reaper, I’ve got a blog tour coming for the first book in my series in August.

I’m really happy to hear everyone’s opinion of my work, and if you’d like to get involved it’s not too late! Simply click here or check out R&R Book Tours.

As always, you can check out my debut novella Reaper here before the blog tour.

That’s a Wrap!

Well, that was my week. How did yours go? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Sunday!

  1. Love your updates! Always strive to think positive. It’s hard at times but the benefits far outweigh the negative thinking. I’m reading about the Free Masons. What are you reading currently?

    • Thanks mom, glad you like them! Yeah, it can be hard, but I’m on the right track.

Oh wow, very cool! I’m reading a book called Carnage in Singapore from my friend Randall Krzak.

      Love you!
