Movie Review – Book Club

Hey Movie Fanatics,

All right, so I know that I usually watch and review things in the horror genre, but sometimes I like to switch things up a little bit. A little heads up, this movie review will be simple and to the point, just like the movie.

I was hanging out with a new friend the other day and we were sorting through available movies when we saw the trailer for Book Club.

BookClub

Right after we watched the trailer I said “We better be watching this”. I mean, look at the A-list actresses in this movie!

Movie Blurb:

Four longtime friends and book club members–Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen–have their lives upended when they aim to spice up their mundane routines by reading the provocative bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey. With newfound confidence, they each begin to come alive as exciting romances are ignited and old flames are rekindled. Through it all, the ladies inspire one other to make this next stage of their lives the best and steamiest thus far.

My Review:

I love, love, loved this movie!

For starters, the four women are brought together by a book club they have, which is a great start to any story if you ask me. By reading this book, the four women come to several different realizations on changes they’d like to make in their lives.

The laughs were a big pro for me too. Each of these women are pretty funny, and even when not the situations are usually fairly hilarious. It was also really funny to hear some of the way the actresses said things or try new things that ‘younger people do’.

Lastly, I simply think that this movie is great for a light watch. There wasn’t anything in this movie I had to wrap my mind around or think too hard about, and sometimes you really need that in a watch.

Wrap-up

Laughs, a little raunchiness, and just a tidbit of heartache makes Book Club an easy, enjoyable watch. Definitely worth a quick watch if you want some easy laughs!

Have you seen this movie yet? What did you think about it? Feel free to share in the comments, and happy watching everyone!
