Weekly Progress Update!
Good Morning Blogging Universe!
It’s Sunday already, can you believe it? I hope you’ve got all your Christmas shopping done at this point. I spent a lot of Saturday getting the rest of my Christmas packages ready (though I’ll admit, this year is mainly gift cards for simplicity), and I managed to get the rest of the week off after Christmas eve.
I’m hoping to get some serious writing done in those few extra days off. I mean, what else am I gonna do, right?
Anywho, let’s get into the details of this week!
Books
I plead the fifth. I am guilty of still reading Pet Sematary by Stephen King.
I enjoy burning through a book like there’s no tomorrow when I’m really feeling it, and there’s something about this book that is unblazeable. I’ve tried it all, extra reading time on weeknights, even a special ‘gotta finish this damn book’ session on Saturday.
Luckily I’m in the last 50 pages or so, so you’ll see that review very soon, promise!
After this, I’m looking forward to some YA reads that I can just blaze through.
TV/Movies
As far as watching stuff goes, this week I watched Little on HBO.
This movie was really great, and I enjoyed that although the concept was very similar to Big (a classic film if you ask me!), it maintained some originality of its own, enough for it to be an enjoyable experience. That and I LOVE Issa Rae.

PS: There are plenty of other watches currently in progress, like The Witcher (on episode three) on Netflix and I just finished watching Watchmen on HBO last Sunday, so definitely keep your eyes peeled for those reviews coming soon.
Oh, and did I mention I binge watched a bunch of Disney + shorts? Yeah, this blog is gonna get crazy with stuff I watched, haha!
My Writing
On the writing front, I met my weekly goal of 2,000 words with a total of 2,350 words, or just shy of ten pages.
I started writing my Chapter 21 and am nearly done with it, then I’ll continue on with Chapter 22. The scenery with both chapters is the same, so I’m looking forward to speeding along if possible.
Then it’s maybe four or five chapters before the end of the second act. Hooray!
Right now the sequel stands at 57,546 words, or 230 pages, and the light at the end of the tunnel is beginning to show. Soon I’ll need to worry about my third and final act, which I haven’t plotted out yet. Don’t worry, I already know the ending of course.
Anywho, wish me luck!
That’s a Wrap!
All right, so that was it for my week. How did yours go? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Anything interesting you’d like to share?
Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!
Thanks for stopping by everyone, and Happy Sunday!

2350 words is pretty darn good. Some SK books I’ve flown through (like Thinner), and some took forever (The Tommyknockers). I guess some of his books “clicked” with my reading style more than others.
I am reading Blood Sugar by Kraus. It’s 95 percent street slang, so you HAVE to read it slow to figure out what the words are. I am LOVING it. It’s kind of like horror, but it’s more gritty than anything else.
Thanks!
Yeah, idk, I just have to slow read this one, not that’s it’s not good.
Oh very nice! I’ll have to check that one out!
Sounds like a great week! I thought Little looked fun in the trailer, so I must watch it. Good luck finishing Pet Semetary. I know I will be struck down as a horror writer for saying this, but I’m not a fan of King.
Thanks friend!
Little was surprisingly good, definitely worth a try at least.
No you’re okay. Lately I have been more on the meh side with his works like The Institute.
