Christmas WWW Wednesday
Hello Beautiful World,
Merry Christmas! I hope that you get to spend some stress-free time with family and friends today and enjoy the holiday.
I won’t spend much time on this post given what day it is, so let’s get right into the thick of things.
Every Wednesday I participate in a meme called WWW Wednesday.
This meme is a challenge where you simply share what you’re reading, what you’ve recently finished, and what you hope to read in the near future.
The meme is currently handled by Taking On A World of Words, and anybody can participate.
Simply read the 3 W questions below and answer them should you want to:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?

Welcome to Fear Street.
Don’t listen to the stories they tell you about Fear Street. Wouldn’t you rather explore it yourself…and see if its dark terrors and unexplained mysteries are true? You’re not afraid, are you?
Don’t open that present!
If only Reva Dalby had listened to that warning.
But beautiful, cold Reva won’t listen to anyone. Reva thinks she can have whatever—and whoever—she wants. After all, her daddy owns Dalby Department Stores.
Now, someone has some surprises instore for her. Robbery? Terror? Even murder? Someone wants to treat Reva to a holiday she’ll never forget.
Holiday cheer quickly turns to holiday chills for Reva. Someone is stalking her, someone is trying to get to her.
Her money can’t help her. No one can.
After all, who can you turn to when murder comes gift-wrapped?
Opinion so far:
I’m about a quarter through this so far, and I’m really enjoying it. Reva is super selfish, maybe a little bit too much to be believable, but she’s definitely going to get what’s coming to her if I know R.L. Stine at all.
Speaking of which, this is the first R.L. Stine novel I’ve read since I was a little kid, so it’s also very nostalgic. Talk about a blast from the past!
I probably won’t get much reading done on this today given the holiday, but who knows?
Keep your eyes peeled for this holiday horror story review!

A shipwreck, a siren’s curse, and a hopelessness as vast as the ocean.
“You think you know the story. You’ve heard it before, from sailors who regale the tales in ale-made stupors. Do not believe them, for if they live to tell the tale they fail to tell you one important thing—the truth.
Whether you believe me or not is none of my concern. I ask you only to listen…”
Discover the devastating truth of the siren’s curse in a haunting, chilling, and lyrical tale of woe.
My Opinion:
This short story was entertaining and had a theme I don’t usually explore. While it wasn’t the best short story of the year by any means, I did have fun with this light read.

Opinion so far:
Lately I’ve been feeling a little unsure of my next reads. I have been able to catch up to some books on my bookshelves, but have been very leery of starting another series. I guess I’m a commitment phobe, haha!
Obviously, I’m overdue for an Animorphs adventure, so I may read the next two in a couple days.
I may or may not read a short story after that, but I will say that I found some really good free ones on Tor.com and have printed them out so I can just read them on paper instead of a screen (I don’t favor screen reading). We’ll see what happens with that.
Lastly, I decided to give Martha Wells’ Murderbot series a go. I know that I just told you that I’m leery of commitment with book series, but these are primarily novellas, so little commitment is involved. I placed a hold today with my library (the first book I’ve placed a hold for in months it seems) and can’t wait to go pick it up!
That’s a Wrap!
Okay folks, that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.
