Weekly Progress Update!

Good Morning World!

It’s Sunday again, can you believe it? Man, it’s so weird that the first month of the year is almost over. Didn’t we just enter 2020 like a day ago?

Speaking of time, this week has felt odd from the beginning. I had Monday off, and on Friday we had some severe weather that delayed work for a bit. It’s just been hard to get back into the groove of things, ya know?

I had a date on Friday, attended a celebration of life event for my dear friend Jey on Saturday, and today I’m hoping to have a friend or two over for board games. I’ve been all over the board this week, to be honest.

Personal things aside, let’s get into Jaunts & Haunts happenings for the week!

Books

This week was a little bit more slow-moving than former weeks in January. I read The Die of Death by Kenneth B. Andersen and Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx.

These two works couldn’t be more different than each other, but I’m glad I switched things up this week.

I finished The Die of Death late in the week and though I’ve written my review, I won’t be able to share that with you until Monday, as I’m in the blog tour. Unlike the first book, I did have some conflicting opinions, but you’ll see it all on Monday, promise. Keep your eyes peeled!

Brokeback Mountain was heart-wrenching, let me just tell you that. Talk about a tearjerker! This story was about life, love, and the leaps of faith we have to take when love comes along. Definitely recommend this one!

TV/Movies

This week has been a tad bit slow on the watching side of things as well, but believe me when I say there is a lot of great stuff coming. This week I finished my review of The Mandalorian on Disney +.

Man, this show was jam-packed with action and adventure! Disney definitely did this Star Wars series right so far, and I can’t wait for season 2!

My Writing

I stuck to my writing plans as usual and have some great news! I plotted out the remaining two chapters of my second act, and the plotting phase of act two is complete (as of ten minutes ago)! Starting tomorrow I’ll begin writing the first drafts of the remainder of the chapters, then I’ll finish up with act three.

Act three will be relatively short, maybe three chapters along with an epilogue.

Then once that’s all done it’ll be time to comb over things for my official first draft, followed by alpha and beta phases with fellow readers. The end is near, my friends!

But while you wait with breath that is most definitely baited, why not check out the first book in the Reaper Apocalypse? (click on the photo below if you’re interested)

My book is available on Kindle Unlimited for free, and is also on Barnes and Noble as well.

That’s a Wrap!

All right, so that was it for my week. How did yours go? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Anything interesting you’d like to share?

Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by everyone, and Happy Sunday!

  1. Yay for such good progress on your writing. Mine went as planned this week time-wise, though it wasn’t particularly prolific. Hopefully the weather is settling down and everything will be back to normal.

    • Thanks, I’m super excited! Still a ton to do, but the first aka worst draft is getting close to completion.

It’s been a bit cold, but I don’t think we have any more snow in the forecast, thank goodness!

Congrats on meeting your writing goals!
