Series Review: Locke & Key (Netflix)
Series Blurb:
Three siblings who move into their ancestral estate after their father’s murder discover their new home’s magical keys, which must be used in their stand against an evil creature who wants the keys and their powers.
My Review:
Characters
Understandably grieving characters, each with their own quirks, strengths and weaknesses. Well developed.
Plot
The prefect mix of urban and fantasy. I loved the concept of the keys and learning more about them every step of the way.
Flow
Flow was great too. The only thing that may hinder other watchers is the flashbacks and the plethora of characters, but I never got confused by it.
Overall Impression
I randomly saw this on Netflix and gave it a chance. Boy was I blown away! So much so that I temporarily dropped Magicians Season Four for it (and that’s saying a lot).
This series follows a family who just lost the father figure. After relocating to a small town where he grew up, they learn there’s a lot more darkness and magic to his past than meets the eye.
I loved every minute of this. The great, unique characters, the keys and their power, and the relationships forged along this journey. I would even dare to say that this gave me a childlike sense of wonder during several episodes, especially the first ones. If you love great stories, please give this a try!
Final Score
9.5/10

This sounds amazing! I might get the graphic novels and check it out (don’t have Netflix).
I bet the graphic novels are great too. Go for it!
We finished Netflix’s Parfume (or Perfume), season 1 last night. It was creepy-tastic. Dear Husband wants to watch Locke n Key next, but I wasn’t so sure. Thanks for your review. I’ll give it a go!
Oh interesting! I believe I saw a movie by that title way back when. Wonder if it’s related?
Ooo yes, you’ll be binging Locke & Key for sure!
