Have a lovely day, everyone!
Blurb:
Early retirees Maria and Richard Wilcox adore their new home out in the country. The past six months have been sheer bliss as they settled in and prepared for their golden years.
Until the night they answer a knock on their door.
The unexpected visitors are a pair of children. Richard tries to be cordial, but something about the kids is off. Something sinister, something menacing, something inhuman.
And then the children demand to be let in.
What do they want? Is this all a prank? Can Maria and Richard get them to go away, or will their dreams of a peaceful retirement together go up in flames?

Excerpt:
Richard and Maria’s eyes met, and they leaned in for a kiss before relaxing once more. Minutes passed, and Richard fell into a trance as the record player churned out soft, relaxing melodies he knew by heart.
Just when his eyelids were beginning to droop, a sudden gasp from Maria snapped him back to attention. Richard jolted upright as Maria’s glass slipped from her hands and hit the carpet with a dull thud. Her face had paled several shades, and she had a fist clenched over her chest as she gaped forward.
“What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
“I-I … I thought I saw … the window.”
Richard looked to the open window. “Sweetheart, there’s nothing there. Are you sure you didn’t just imagine it?”
“I could’ve sworn … Sorry, I must have gotten too much sun today.”
Maria glanced down at the floor, and Richard followed her gaze. Her glass’s contents had spilled onto the beige carpet in a large crimson blotch.
“It’s alright.” Richard stooped over to pick up the glass, feeling a twinge in his back when he stood up. “You relax. I’ll get something to clean this–”
Knock, knock, knock. Richard jumped and Maria yelped in fright.
“We’re worse than a couple cats in a room full of rocking chairs,” Richard said with a chuckle, hoping to lighten the mood. “Did either of the boys call to say they were stopping by?”
“No,” Maria said with a tremor in her voice.
The knocking continued, heavy and steady.
Knock, knock, knock. Knock, knock, knock.
That’s a Wrap!
Thanks for stopping by!

Yay! Congrats Jonny! I loved it! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks, love! Looking forward to bringing more chills and thrills to the universe soon!
Congratulations, Jonny! I just picked up my copy.:-)
Thank you friend! Hope you enjoy. 😊
Congrats on publishing!
I will definitely have to read this sometime.. it sounds creepy as all get out. 😆
Thank you friend! Good to see ya on here. 😊 I had so much fun creating this story.
Always a pleasure, stranger, it’s good to see you!
I’m glad you enjoyed writing it.. that’s how it should be! I’m betting it will be just as much fun to read.
But how the heck did you manage to find the time to write another book!?
Yeah!
Haha, it was super difficult with grad school and work, believe me! I wrote most of it in between semesters.
I bet! But I get this feeling you probably welcomed the challenge.. 🤭
It must be exciting (and nerve-racking) to have it all completed and published though.
I’m so happy for you!
Yeah, I did manage to pull everything off in the end, but I did kind of hit my limit of stress somewhere along the semester, so I’m gonna have to keep that in mind going forward. Can’t push too hard. But yes, very very excited and already working on the next bigger project. 50 pages in!
Yikes.. you have to remember to take care of yourself, too, a book can’t happen without it’s author!
I hope you know how impressive what you’re doing and what you’ve accomplished really is..
Best of luck with this next project and, again, congrats!
Right. I tend to get tunnel vision, and that definitely happened this semester.
Aww, thank you! Sometimes it’s easy to forget how far you’ve come and it’s good to remind ourselves that we’ve come a long way.
It’s going well! Rounding up the sixth chapter of my WIP.
Which is super useful for things like, say, writing a book. 😋
You’re very welcome. You’re so young to have accomplished as much as you have. I hope you’ve taken the time to give yourself a pat on the back because you’ve earned it.
Already? Wow.. I’m glad it’s going so well! At this rate, you’ll have completed it in no time!
Stay safe and get rest when you can. 💖
Haha, exactly!
Okay, self pat on the back commencing!
Yeah, I’m really happy with how fast it’s coming along. There will definitely be a point where I’ll have to slow down a bit, but I’m not there yet.
Thanks! I’m definitely going to start sleeping in a bit more.
Well deserved!
And, hey, I don’t blame you.. Sometimes the writing practically does all the work for itself and you have to take advantage of it while you can.
You’re very welcome!
Sleep is a wonderful thing, my friend, enjoy it!
Yeah, it’s crazy how I just jumped back in, but I’m not questioning it. It’s just working and I’m loving it.
Thank you!
Heck yeah.. ride that wave!
I’m happy for you.
And as always.. it’s my pleasure! 🙃
Yay congrats Jonny!! I knew it was going to be published but I wasn’t expecting it so soon. I definitely try to squeeze in a reread of it.
Thank you! Yeah, it came kind of sudden for me as well. I’ve been running around like crazy lol. I think enough has changed throughout that you’ll see a difference, though it’s not an overhaul by any means.
Congratulations!
Thanks, and thank you for giving Conscience a read!
No need. It seemed interesting and turned out a lovely story indeed! I purchased this one too and think it’ll be my next read.
That’s great to hear! I bet you’ll love BEK Curse too. Obviously a bit different theme, but there are some good chills and thrills along the way.
