Writing Update

Hello Blogiverse!

This post has been a long time coming, and I’m glad to get enough time to share a writing milestone and update with you, as well as a little shameless self-promotion.

First and foremost, a little catch up. For those who may have missed the news, I came out with a paranormal short story called The BEK Curse in May!

It’s a really great tale about some early retirees and the hell they go through when some strange children come knocking on their door in the boonies one night. You can check this story out by clicking the cover above or just clicking here.

You can also check out the brief book trailer I created below if you’d like. I had a lot of fun making it!

I’ve really enjoyed the great reviews on my new story thus far, and I’ll continue to do my best to scare the hell out of everyone! 🙂

Speaking of reviews, I’m currently accepting new additions to my ARC review team, so if you’d like a free copy of The BEK Curse in return for leaving a review on some of your favorite retailers, you can take advantage of that right here. If I think you’re a good fit you’ll get free copies of all my upcoming works!

Of course, if black-eyed kids aren’t your thing, you can also check out my other works below.

All right, enough of my old stuff. What’s the writing milestone and what am I working on now?

My New Writing Project

The second I published The BEK Curse, I immediately starting working on The Ruins, an LGBT horror novel set in South America.

I had been working on this story in the past, but when grad school started a year ago I got overwhelmed and had to shelve it temporarily.

I’ve made a ton of great progress since May. The project currently sits at 37,326 words, or roughly 150 pages. The first two acts of the story are fairly polished for a first draft, and I’ve begun plotting out the third and final act.

I hope to get a first draft completed sometime this summer and a polished second draft sometime this year. From there I’ll do the alpha and beta read cycles I usually do, then I’ll start looking for a publisher. I know, very blah blah. What does this mean for you?

Well, it means we probably aren’t looking at a release until sometime next year. Very sorry, but these things take time, yes?

In the meantime, I’ll continue to read where I can and give you lots of great book recs. I’m really excited to move forward with this project, and I think you’ll like the end result. If you’d like more frequent updates on my writing, I do that numerous times a week on my Facebook page .

Thanks for tuning in everyone!

That’s a Wrap!

Well, that’s it for this catch up session. How are your WIPs going? What reads are you excited about? Tell me all about it in the comments, folks!
