Library Title Picks – July 2022
Hello Booksters!
It’s been another month, so I hope you’re ready for some more great library picks!
As a brief refresher, every month I look through my TBR and pick three reads I’m most interested in at the moment (believe me, that’s constantly changing!). After checking my library system’s availability, I make purchase requests to support awesome authors and all the hard work they’ve done to create exciting worlds.
As always, there’s a focus towards indie works, but that doesn’t necessarily mean my picks will always be indie. Alright, on to the picks!
The Book of Chaos is really new on my TBR but caught my eye. I haven’t enjoyed my MG/YA reads recently, so maybe this one will change that. I’ve heard good things about Scratches, and I always need a good scare, so I’m hopeful this will deliver. Last but not least Cape Misfortune is a pick from Solstice Publishing, my publisher for The BEK Curse. This book sounds like it may be a creature feature or something supernatural, so I’m exciting to find out what horrors await.
To check out these books in more detail for yourself, feel free to peruse the links and blurbs below. Happy book hunting!

Not all books are meant to be read.
Twelve-year-old Fable Nuthatch lives a quiet, safe life in the village of Larkmoor, full of regular people leading normal lives. There is no magic here. None except for the spark that runs through Fable’s veins. Living under the roof of her over-protective aunt, her magic is kept secret, hidden inside the walls of their cottage.
When a strange book lands in Fable’s lap and her cousin disappears into its pages, she follows, hurtling into an enchanted forest far from the rolling hills of her home. This is a land filled with strange people, magic and more danger than Fable has ever dreamed of.
She must battle for not only a way home, but for the lives of those she loves dearest. With the help of her peculiar new friends, Fable must learn to trust in herself or risk losing her cousin forever. Can she save him before it’s too late?

“Welcome to beautiful Cape Misfortune. Come for the rugged coastline and unspoiled beaches. Stay for the quaint customs and friendly welcome.”
Don’t ask about the people who are going missing. Locals blame it on other-worldly creatures who use the fog as cover.
Disgraced police woman Deputy Cassandra Dollar is fighting to keep her job after her ex-husband has lied about her. Her shift Sergeant no longer believes a word she says and her new patrol partner is more dangerous than any of the criminals she faces.
Then “The Levitator”, an ex-detective-turned-magician, offers to help Cassandra unmask a terrible mystery. Why are people going missing? Where are they being taken to?
Could an old house on a crumbling cliff be the gateway to another world?
Are the disappearances part of a conspiracy that threatens more than Cape Misfortune – maybe the future of the entire planet?
That’s A Wrap!
That’s it for this post. I hope you enjoyed these library picks of mine!
