Library Title Picks – August 2023
Greetings Bibliophiles!
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve requested some new books from my library, but the wait is over!
Alright, so how it works is that every month I get to pick three books for my library to buy physical copies of. It’s a great way to support my fellow indies and get the word out about their wonderful works.
This month I have a horrifying theme that’s near and dear to my black heart, creature features!
If you love things that lurk in the dark or you’re simply looking to switch things up, please check out the links and blurbs below, consider requesting these titles at your library if allowed, or if you’re really inspired, purchase a copy!
Happy book hunting, and have a wonderful August!
***Brief disclosure***

Have you ever wanted to live inside your favorite horror film? Prove you have what it takes to fight Freddy? Destroy Jason? Mangle Michael?
Cousins Carson and Sophia are in town for their grandma’s funeral and are, unknowingly, about to live out the nightmare that is every horror fan’s dream.
After they find an old unfamiliar VHS tape tucked away in grandma’s house, they figure the worst that can happen is a few cringeworthy moments and 90 minutes wasted. Instead, the video summons the movie monsters—local urban legends called melon heads—into their very real lives!
The destruction caused by the blood thirsty melon heads has Carson and Sophia fighting to survive and sets them on a deadly path to the shores of Lake Michigan, home of the devilish beasts. They vow to destroy every last one of the melon heads and make sure these monsters never get a sequel.
Will they survive? Would you fare better?
It’s a creature feature. It’s a throwback. It’s… MELON HEAD MAYHEM!

Click Click Click Click
Phillipsport, Maine is a quaint and peaceful seaside village. But when hundreds of creatures pour out of the ocean and attack, its residents must take up arms to drive the beasts back. They are the Clickers, giant venomous blood-thirsty crabs from the depths of the sea. The only warning to their rampage of dismemberment and death is the terrible clicking of their claws. But these monsters aren’t merely here to ravage and pillage. They are being driven onto land by fear. Something is hunting the Clickers. Something ancient and without mercy.
Deadite Press is proud to present the authors’ preferred version of J. F. Gonzalez and Mark Williams’ gore-soaked cult classic tribute to the giant monster B-movies of yesteryear.

THE CULT CLASSIC RETURNS!!!
One day, it starts raining-and never stops. Global super-storms decimate the planet, eradicating most of mankind. Pockets of survivors gather on mountaintops, watching as the waters climb higher and higher. But as the tides rise, something else is rising, too.
Now, in the midst of an ecological nightmare, the remnants of humanity face a new menace, in a battle that stretches from the rooftops of submerged cities to the mountaintop islands jutting from the sea. What hope does an already-devastated mankind have against this new supernatural adversary.
The old gods are dead. Now is the time of the Earthworm Gods…
Deadite Press is proud to present this Author’s Preferred Edition of Earthworm Gods, including an all-new, lengthy afterword by the author recounting the novel’s inspiration, creation, and history.
