What Do You Like About Fall?
Hello Blogiverse!
How the heck are ya? Good I hope.
Lately I’ve been focusing primarily on book reviews, so I thought it would be nice to switch things up for a moment in celebration of the changing of the seasons.
The first day of fall was September 23, 2023, and I’m dying to know what you like about fall. Do you have any traditions you do every year without fail? Are there any special plans for you this year? There is no bad response, so hit me up in the comments!
Admittedly, I am a fall and winter person. I loathe the summer, so I’ve been counting down the days until its sunset. Alright, here are my favorite things in no particular order.
Candy Corn
Okay, so my friends and I got into a debate recently. A lot of people hate candy corn but I love it! I bought a big bag with the big pumpkin bites in there and make sure I tease the bf endlessly, asking him if he wants some. He tells me to throw them in the trash. Blasphemy!
Nice Temperatures
Okay, this one is fairly obvious, but I am a lover of colder weather. I run hot pretty much all the time, so being able to feel cold is a long awaited feeling after a hot summer. We’re not quite there yet in Kansas City and have temps in the high 80’s this week, but summer is losing its sway and I couldn’t be happier!
My friends and I went to the Fun Farm last Sunday to start the fall season off right, and it was wonderful!
I also love to get out more often in the colder months when summer people are hiding inside. My friends call me the snow miser, haha!
The Smell of Fall!
Ironically, this one’s a little morbid. The smell of fall, as in the smell in the air, is the aroma of leaves dying. Who knew that such a thing could smell so wonderful?! I found out more deets about it in this article here if you’re curious about it. Me and the boyfriend have already let the scent in on rare colder days and it just makes me so happy! I also love the smell of petrichor, which is the earthy scent after it rains. I also love hot apple cider or mulled wine. Those to me are very fall scents.
Horror Palooza!

Last but certainly not least, fall is a time where all the horror heads out there go crazy! I’m not sure why we pick this time of year, but I’m not gonna complain. The boyfriend recently told me that horror movies will constantly be on in October at our house, so I’m very excited! I’d like to try out some more classic horror gems that I haven’t seen yet.
That’s a Wrap!
Alright folks, that’s it for this post. How about you? What’s your favorite thing about fall? Tell me all about it in the comments, and have a wonderful fall day!

I agree with you on everything! And I love snow too but it’s a rare occurrence in Northeast Alabama unfortunately.
Yay, another fall person!
Oh no! To be honest I don’t believe Missouri got a ton of snow days last year. I need more! There’s nothing better than being snowed in and reading with little breaks to gaze out longingly outside.
Yessss!!!
It’s so rare, but something that is just so fulfilling. I’ve only lucked out with a couple days like that in my adult life.
I love the fall mostly because of the color weather and how pretty it is because of the leaves changing colors.
Right? I don’t blame ya! The leaves have started falling here but the color change hasn’t quite happened yet. I need my pretty fall colors!
That was supposed to say cooler weather lol.
Lol no worries, I gotcha. We only had a couple days of cooler weather before it shot right back into the high 80’s. Give up the ghost already, summer!
We’ve had cooler weather for the past week or so. The morning late are cooler and the evening get warmer but it’s still cooler than then 90-100 degree weather we were getting.
Yeah, I guess I should be more grateful. I’m just impatient lol.
You and me both!! For me just with the little drop in temperature we’ve had I’m already cold 😂
Oh my boyfriend is already like that too! He’s got icicle fingers. I shudder to think how cold they’ll get in the winter!
Yeah I know I’m going to be freezing in the winter especially since I am literally sitting here wrapped in a blanket already.
Oh dang! See, I rarely use a blanket unless it’s like the dead of winter. I’m also crazy because I always have a fan on. For me I think I just need some air circulation. I’m so high maintenance!
During the day I’ve started turning my fan off. At least the one that’s pointing toward me. The ceiling fan is always on and at night I turn the one on me back on because I can’t sleep without it.
Once it gets colder I may start using mine less. Oh, me and the bf use a big fan every night too. It’s great white noise to put me right to sleep, but the cat hates it lol.
