Yay! What was the convention you went to called?
This was my 2nd year at Planet Comicon and will be my 3rd year attending Crypticon.
I can’t remember what it was called. I think Starz. It was in a place called Blackpool in England. It had lots of actors as well as a trading room, where I got a great haul. I didn’t know anyone there, but the people were so friendly and interested in the same things I was. It was wonderful.
I googled it and I think you’re right! It sounds really cool and I’m glad you had a good time. Even going alone can be really great because there are so many likeminded people around you. It’s definitely a great community to have.
I don’t think that’s the right name, seems to be a dance convention? This was for science fiction tv shows. Trying to find the name brought up a list of all the cons in Ireland and the UK, and while I won’t be able to go to any this year, it has made me excited about planning a future trip.
Oops! I did find a Blackpool Scifi and Fantasy Con. Maybe that’s the one or its even more specific than that one. Yeah, cons aren’t cheap, so I definitely have to limit myself to maybe one or two a year. Even with budgeting it can really get expensive. My friend told me yesterday he spent 3k on a con in Texas. It blew my mind!
