Short Story Review: Interview

Hello Humans!

Hope you’re having a good end to the week. I finished my grad school semester completely, so I’m free to get back to concentrating more on reading and writing. Super excited!

Today I’m reviewing the short story Interview by M.D. Neu.

This came out during my grad school semester, and given how big a fan I am of Neu’s work (I even interviewed him back in 2019 – check that out here) I made this a priority on my TBR.

Let’s see how it went!

Saving the planet isn’t cheap, and it’s not something anyone thinks about. We can’t only rely on the government, so who are the nameless donors and funders that bring green technologies to fruition? What kind of person spends their personal fortune on ways to clean the environment, and make our planet a better home? Meet Ali Emerson, one of these faceless benefactors, find out why Ali decided to focus on saving the world in the Interview.

The Review

This was an inspiring short tale about climate change.

Set in the not too far away future, in this brief story we follow an interview of the founder of a company making big strides in combating climate change. I really enjoyed getting to know about Ali and Jason’s  backstory and what inspired them to change their perspective on climate change.

This is definitely a read that gets you thinking about the world and what we have to lose.

The story took a positive spin that I very much appreciated, and I loved the references to things like carbon air capture amid other things. This story seemed very realistic in that it wasn’t all sunshine and roses, but established that combating climate change is grueling hard work that the entire world must take action on.

If you want a hopeful fictional story about the possible future of climate change or just a little break in between reads, you can’t go wrong with this one!

That’s A Wrap!

Well that’s it for this book review. I hope you enjoyed it!

Have you read this book? Are there other similar books you’ve read that you simply have to gush about? Feel free to leave a comment. I’d love to start a conversation!

Have a great day!
