Women’s History Month – Madam C.J. Walker
Madam C.J. Walker, born Sarah Breedlove, was an entrepreneur and one of the 1st American women to become a self-made millionaire.
After developing a scalp disorder that made her lose much of her hair, she perfected products like pomade and heated combs that led to her launching her own business. Sarah opened a factory, a beauty school, and organized clubs and conventions for her representatives, which recognized philanthropic and educational achievements among other African Americans.
With her rampant entrepreneurial success and empowerment of her fellow woman, it’s no wonder why we celebrate her great achievements for Women’s History Month!
