Weekly Progress Update!

Good Morning Everyone,

How was your weekend so far? Anything worth noting? Like last week, I had a lot of down time, so it’s been really relaxing. I even got to play some video games for a bit, how crazy is that? I haven’t been able to find time for them in maybe six months.

On a personal note, this week has been … interesting. I’ve been a little restless at my job and came to the realization that I may need to go back to school in the near future (my degree is in finance).

It’s way too early to really say much, but I would most likely be going back to get my CFP (Certified Financial Planner) certification. It would take about nine months (it’s a self-study program), and while that would hurt my presence here, I feel like I may just have to do it for me.

I really want everything I do in life to be something that makes me truly happy, and honing in on my personal workweek seems to be the right thing to do. I’m not making any big decisions yet (there’s still a lot of research to do), but if I do I’ll let you guys know every step of the way!

Books

On the bookish side of things, I finished The Devil’s Apprentice by Kenneth B. Andersen and started The Gemini Connection by Teri Polen.

I absolutely LOVED The Devil’s Apprentice. It was a great YA read, and would be a perfect Halloween read for anyone interested. The author himself reached out to me and offered the next few books, so I’m looking forward to reading them!

As far as The Gemini Connection, I’m also loving this book as well! I feel very fortunate to be reading two books in a row that I can’t get enough of. I should be finishing this sometime in the next week, so keep your eyes peeled!

TV/Movies

On the watching side of things, I finished watching The Boys on Amazon Prime.

The Boys

This debut series was such an amazing roller coaster ride! I simply can’t wait for the next season of superhero awesomeness. If you’d like to check out my review, click here.

I did watch a couple of movies last night, but obviously haven’t had enough time to write reviews for them. Definitely keep your eyes peeled for those this week!

My Writing

On the writing side of things, I decided to start writing out the second act of my Reaper sequel. I did pretty well and was able to write up the first scene for the first chapter (about 1,400 words).

I wanted to really zero in on this section because it’s a big turning point and I wanted to make sure I executed it right. I think I did well this week, and I’m ready to start writing the rest of the chapter. Can’t wait!

PS: I’ve been feeling a little lazy with my writing lately as far as setting aside time, so I may be reading a bit less going forward so I can focus more on writing.

Reaper Blog Tour

I have a blog tour coming up next week for my debut novella Reaper: A Horror Novella!

R&R Book Tours is hosting my blog tour, and I couldn’t be happier! To check out the details, the giveaway, and the blog schedule, click here.
