Weekly Progress Update!

Hey Everyone,

Happy Sunday!

I’m running a bit late today, so bear with me. It’s that time of the week again!

So on a personal level, I’ve been super busy with my work. I’ve decided to keep things short and sweet when talking about my dayjob. There’s just too much negativity coming from my end lately and I don’t want to feed into that anymore.

So in a nutshell, overtime is the key word for my job this week. I’m grateful that I’m needed so much, but it’s taken me away from other things like reading and writing. The time’s gotta come from somewhere right?

This weekend has been centered around hanging out with some friends of mine and reconnecting, and I’ve had sooo much fun! I’m definitely ready to get reading and writing, and next week I am off for Thanksgiving mid-day Wednesday through the weekend, so I’ll get a lot more time to work on things. Crossing my fingers!

Books

On the bookish side of things, this week I finished reading Animorphs #13, The Change by KA Applegate and TAD by M.D. Neu.

Is it ironic that I read two sci-fi books this week? Eh, maybe, maybe not.

I absolutely loved this installment of the Animorphs series and was blown away. There really was a change that will affect future books, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

TAD was a welcome change from the norm. Sci-fi, time travel, and LGBT elements are braided together into a great, fun story that I definitely won’t forget.

TV/Movies

On the watching side of things, this week was pretty good. I watched Marianne, a horror series on Netflix.

Man, this show was all that and a bag of chips!

There were so many great jump scares and creepy scenes, and I totally loved this. I am seriously hoping that a second season comes out sometime next year or something. Don’t disappoint me, Netflix!

Something to note, thanks to my roommate I now have access to Disney Plus!  Keep your eyes peeled from some nostalgic non-scary series reviews in the near future. I have spotted some amazing old shows that I simply had to watch. I’m in heaven!

My Writing

On the writing side of things, this week was all about the plotting for me. I plotted out my Chapter 20 and am currently plotting out Chapter 21.

I’m trying to plot out at least the next three chapters so I can just plug away at the word count and blast through. However, it’s taking a little while because the last time I worked on these chapters before now was like July. So there is some heavy restructuring going on, and while that’s slowing me down a bit, it’s 100% necessary. Definitely not mad at myself.

I also started working on a brief chapter summary guide for myself so I can pick through them and see where some changes may need to happen on my second go around through the book before letting readers see it for my alpha and beta reads.

I’ll get there, don’t worry!

That’s a Wrap!

All right, so that was it for my week. How did yours go? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Anything interesting you’d like to share?

Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by everyone, and Happy Sunday!
