Comedy Special Review – Iliza Shlesinger: Unveiled

Howdy Witty Jokesters and Goofballs,

Surprise, surprise, I’m switching things up!

As a slight variation from my movie, book, and show reviews, I’d also like to start doing reviews of comedy specials. Keep in mind, I’m not expert on comedy, I just love sharing things that I watch.

I’ll keep it simple with these reviews and just go over some things I liked/didn’t like. Oh, and there will be no ratings, just simply if I enjoyed it or not. Comedy is hard to rate when we all have different tastes.

Laughter is SUPER important to me. I tend to get really serious a lot of the time, so when I feel like I’m being too much of a grown up, I put on something funny to lighten the mood.

At work I’ll be stressing, then I’ll reach a point where I tell myself ‘You know what, I’m putting some comedy on.’ And it always cheers me right up.

So for my first comedy special review, what better comedian is there other than the hilarious Iliza Shlesinger in her Unveiled Netflix special?

Fun fact, I discovered Iliza Shlesinger through YouTube, as I do with most comedians. From the first clip, I was hooked! Anywho, let’s get into this review before I blab you into oblivion.

Movie Blurb:

In this Netflix stand-up special, newly wed Iliza Shlesinger, investigates marriage and its traditions. She discusses the required preparations as a woman, long-standing traditions as garters and veils, and the horror that is a bachelorette party.

My Review:

HI-LAR-I-OUS! This special was amazing! This was my first time watching an Iliza Shlesinger special, and I was blown away!

ahmazing

As always, Iliza is unapologetic as she dishes dirt on everyone. I love that she’s an equal opportunity offender, haha!

So what can you expect with Iliza Shlesinger? Funny faces, hilarious hashtags, and that awesome screech that she does!

Some of the main topics she gravitated on were aging, marriage, dating, and pretty much everything in between.

This special was over an hour, and I was cooking at the time. Needless to say, I almost burnt what I was cooking because I ended up paying attention to Iliza, haha!

My favorite part of the special was that although she was hilarious the entire time, Iliza put a lot of thought into this comedy special and dished dirt on some really terrible things that we do to each other.

Things like body negativity, shaming each other, false politeness, etc etc. And she had a point!

All in all, this Netflix comedy special was the perfect little detour for my weekend and I loved every minute of it. Can’t wait to watch the other three available on Netflix!

Wrap-up

Well, that’s it for this comedy review.

Have you heard of Iliza Shlesinger and her comedy? If so, what do you think of her? Did you watch this special and love it? Hate it? Lemme know in the comments!
