Movie Review – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (Netflix Party)
Movie Blurb:
A teenage girl’s secret love letters are exposed and wreak havoc on her love life.
My Review:
Characters
Fun but cliché characters. Interesting enough to keep watching throughout.
Plot
Though a fun, cute plot, it was a tad predictable, but also entertaining.
Flow
Nothing wrong with the flow really. Stuck with the main plot overall.
Overall Impression
Okay okay, I know what you’re thinking. Why is Jonny watching a cutesy romance? Well that’s the fun in the Netflix parties I’ve been a part of. The movies we watch don’t always fit my standard genres. It’s good for branching out.
I’ve heard of the book and film adaptations of this story, but never really gave either a chance because romance isn’t really my thing. Despite that, I did have some fun watching this movie!
The cast of characters were a bit cliché but believable and entertaining with a couple laughs here and there. Nothing too special in my opinion.
The plot was pretty simple and not that much of a game changer with romance movies, but it was still thought out and entertaining. I was a little nonplussed on how predictable the plot was. I pretty much called it at the beginning.
Flow was fine. No complaints there.
Overall, this was a fun little detour from my usual kind of movie. Someone who likes romance would definitely give this a higher score. If you like romance, watch this one!
Final Score
6/10

Good review! Oh, I would have died of embarrassment when I was a teenage girl if my secret love letters had been exposed to everyone!
Thanks, it was definitely a good experience branching out in what I watch.
OMG yeah, that would’ve been terrible on my end as well. Oh the drama!
I have watched this and read the book. I do agree it’s predictable but I love Ed it and thought it was cute. I will say I enjoyed this one more than the sequel.
Actually, I was hoping you might say something because I remembered you speaking about this. Definitely cute and entertaining enough.
Haha wait for my review of the sequel. I agree with you. Sequel wasn’t very good in my opinion.
There’s still one more book and another movie to come. So far I haven’t read the final book.
There’s three? Dang, I thought there wasn’t enough material for two lol.
Yep there’s 3 books and there’s going to be a 3rd movie but there’s no telling when that will happen.
Oh lordy. Well I hope it redeems itself from the second movie. Fingers crossed!
Maybe. I need to read the book before the movie comes out
Yep. I was indeed wondering why you found yourself watching this one hahah Glad to hear it wasn’t terrible. I assumed it was going to be cute and cliched too hahah Thanks for sharing, Jonny! 🙂
Yeah, lol. My friends have a Netflix party twice a week, so sometimes the movies don’t quite fit my preferred genres, but the time to socially connect makes it worth it.
For sure!
I’ve only watched the movie but never read the book. It was overly-hyped in social media and when you really need a light movie with a few giggles (lol), then this is a nice one. Haha! Great review btw. Thanks for sharing!
Oh, me too. I dont read romance novels though I dont mind if a little is present.
This was a nice light watch for sure. I probably wont rewatch but sometimes it’s nice to broaden the horizons a tad.
Very welcome!
In my house, this is called a real horror movie! Haha. The series seems very popular though, I’ve seen lots of people mention it’s name. It’s good to watch outside your preferred genre sometimes.
Haha! Right?
Yeah it was cute, but definitely not my style. Always good to switch it up a bit, so I’m not mad or anything.
