WWW Wednesday
Happy Hump Day!
This week is really moving along quickly for me, and I gotta say, I’m not mad about it at all. I move in just two more days (and a birthday three days after that), and I’m in pretty decent shape for the move.
That being said, there’s still plenty to do, so after this post you may not see any posts from me until Sunday.
Wish me luck!
Anywho, let’s get back to this post!
Every Wednesday I participate in a meme called WWW Wednesday.
This meme is a challenge where you simply share what you’re reading, what you’ve recently finished, and what you hope to read in the near future.
The meme is currently handled by Taking On A World of Words, and anybody can participate.
Simply read the 3 W questions below and answer them should you want to:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?

Micheline Helsing is a tetrachromat—a girl who sees the auras of the undead in a prismatic spectrum. As one of the last descendants of the Van Helsing lineage, she has trained since childhood to destroy monsters both corporeal and spiritual: the corporeal undead go down by the bullet, the spiritual undead by the lens. With an analog SLR camera as her best weapon, Micheline exorcises ghosts by capturing their spiritual energy on film. She’s aided by her crew: Oliver, a techno-whiz and the boy who developed her camera’s technology; Jude, who can predict death; and Ryder, the boy Micheline has known and loved forever.
When a routine ghost hunt goes awry, Micheline and the boys are infected with a curse known as a soulchain.
As the ghostly chains spread through their bodies, Micheline learns that if she doesn’t exorcise her entity in seven days or less, she and her friends will die. Now pursued as a renegade agent by her monster-hunting father, Leonard Helsing, she must track and destroy an entity more powerful than anything she’s faced before . . . or die trying.
Lock, stock, and lens, she’s in for one hell of a week.
Opinion so far:
I’m just over halfway finished with this novel, and I am loving it! Everything has a dark, creepy ambience that I’ve been craving for quite some time and the plot is amazing so far. I have a feeling this is going on my favorites list (that rarely ever happens), but we’ll see what happens!

Micheline Helsing is a tetrachromat – a girl who sees the auras of the undead in a prismatic spectrum. Now she’s facing one of her most challenging ghost hunts ever. Lock, stock, and lens, she’s in for one hell of a ride.
My Opinion:
This short novella was an amazingly well-written prequel to Shutter. I was totally blown away and fully recommend checking this out. It’s also free on Tor.com, so how could you say no?

Opinion so far:
Next up on my reads is another Animorphs adventure, #30 this time. I’m hoping to read through this while relaxing from my move in my new place.
After that is my buddy read of Please Don’t Tell My Parents I’m a Super Villain with Misty’s Book Space. I’ve been looking forward to this one and hope it lives up to my expectations.
Last but certainly not least is Spirit Hunters by Ellen Oh. I bought this a little ways back, so I’m excited to try it out. It sounds Spooktacular!
That’s a Wrap!
Okay folks, that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.

Good luck on your move! I’m glad Shutters is such a good read. A few minutes ago I finished a Gothic, psychological horror novel called Unmasked by R Saint Claire. It had a 1980s, campy vibe which I didn’t expect . . . kinda fun, actually.:-)
Thank you! I’m so ready for this to happen. So many boxes everywhere and my voice echoes in the apt, but I’m in a really good position to move right now.
Oh nice! Campy feels can be really great. People often underestimate that kinda vibe but I’m a big fan. May have to check that one out!
Good luck with your move I hope everything goes by smoothly and as quickly as possible.
Thank you! I’m so ready to get outta this place!
I know the feeling.
Please don’t tell my parents I’m a super villain looks fun. Glad you’re move went well. Now on to celebrating your birthday!
Yeah, I read about a page or so of the preview and it flowed very well, so I’m looking forward to it!
Haha yes! Today I have some day drinking and a digital board game session with friends to celebrate. Take that, Covid 19! *sticks tongue out*
Sounds like a good day!
Yeah, I’m enjoying this time to unwind. Maybe I’ll make a habit of it. I feel great!
You should. 😊
