The Finished Books Tag

Happy Friday Eve Everyone!

I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for the weekend. There’s just something annoying about this week and its struggles.

Anywho, I’m switching things up today with a Tag post. I rarely ever do these, but when I saw Kristin Kraves Books post this, I had to try it out for myself.

This is The Finished Books Tag. Feel free to participate or steal for your blog! I’m not nominating anyone in particular, so go for it if you like it.

And awayyy we go!

Finished Books Tag

Do you review books?

Yeah, I’ve been reviewing books for quite a while, but GoodReads suggests I’ve been reviewing since 2014. Holy Moly I’m getting old!

Do you keep a list of the books you have read?

Does GoodReads count? If so, then yes. I log all of my read books on GoodReads and more recently Bookbub if it’s present on there.

If you record statistics, what statistics do you record?

Nah, I don’t really give much thought to statistics, other than whether or not I liked something.

Do you give star ratings for books and if so, what do you score books out of and how do you come about this score?

Of course! How else is someone supposed to know how much I love my books? I rate in half star increments on a five-star scale. I also round up , so if I had a 3.5 rating, it would show up as a four-star rating. Life’s too short to be rounding down authors who really deserve the exposure and a very small uptick.

I score based on the big elements. Did I like the characters? What about the plot? Was the writing great or just mediocre? What stood out to me for this book?

Then to be fair, I go into what didn’t work for me, if anything. Tada!

Where do you put your finished books?

In the incinerator, muahaha! Just kidding. Well if it’s on the Kindle I don’t put it anywhere. *shrugs* But if I bought it and liked it then I’ll put it on my lovely bookshelves at home where they can peacefully live out the rest of their days.

Do you have any other rituals for when you have finished a book?

I close the book and give it a once over before deciding what to do with it. If I loved it enough sometimes I’ll cradle it to my chest and give a squeal like a true fanboy.

If I really didn’t like it I may fling it somewhere and storm off.

So no, I don’t really have any set rituals. Just whatever strikes me at the moment.

    • Right, me too! I took your words to heart the last time we talked about books. I’m focused more on Kindle/library, then if I truly love the book I can buy a copy for my bookshelves. It’s starting to get a little cramped.
