Weekly Progress Update!

Good Morning World!

How has this week been treating you? Well I hope!

I personally felt like this week just blazed by.

Work went well. Management is looking into lightening my workload so that I can do all my work in 35 hours, and I’m really hoping this works out because I need more time to myself.

I’ve been working on décor with my new apartment and having some issues given the broken supply chain in the US and the delays it’s been constantly creating for me, but it is slowly coming along and I look forward to having guests over maybe next month.

Books

This week was pretty decent for reading. I finished two books.

Animorphs #31 was a bunch of fun despite not being an all-time favorite of mine in the series.

The Long Walk was a disappointment to me, although I can see how someone who likes character-driven stories would enjoy this.

I’m also currently doing my buddy read of Small Spaces with Iseult Murphy.

I’m only about a quarter through, but this has been a lot of middle-grade creepy fun so far, and I can’t wait to see what happens next! Stay tuned!

TV/Movies

This week in watching I review a movie and a series from Netflix.

Ready or Not was a fun, thrilling ride with horror, comedy, and plenty of gore. Loved it!

October Faction I had some issues with the characters’ actions and the overall plot, but it was still entertaining.

My Writing

Last but certainly not least, my writing went well in my opinion this week.

As you may or may not know, I’m currently working on two projects. One is my Reaper sequel and the other a scifi short story.

Working on these projects concurrently has given me a simple epiphany, that I need to devote more time to writing out of my day.

I feel that the strides I do make are too small given how long I’ve been working on them, and I’m going to try to find a way to balance more writing time along with work, my blog, and reading time without upending my life. I would like to double the amount of time I dedicate to writing, but I know at first that won’t be realizable.

This change is definitely not something that’ll happen easily, but something that needs to happen. Wish me luck!

Anyways, back to my writing progress. For my short story Conscience, I think I’ve finally got the opening section in really good shape. I primarily worked on this Monday and Tuesday. There’s still plenty of work to do, and I’m adjusting my writing to a short story level. It’s definitely different than writing a full novel!

On my Reaper sequel, I finally got through the block and issues that’s been holding me back. Yes, I’m still on Chapter 13, but I’ve been doing a nearly complete rewrite, so that’s what’s been taking me so long. I’m on the last scene of the Chapter and should finish that out sometime today, then it’s on to 14 and 15, which will also have plenty of rewrite time, though not quite as much as Chapter 13.

In the meantime, why not check out where it all started?

For some, the Boogeyman is just a creepy fairy tale, but after a monster takes his sister from the basement, Gregory knows that the Boogeyman is all too real. Can he save his sister from the monster before it’s too late?
