My Review:

Sometimes we need a little food for thought, and I got a serious hunger pang when I watched the trailer for this one, so I gave it a go!

Crazy Delicious is a reality cooking show set in a stunning and almost completely edible location. When the intro rolled out, I couldn’t help but think of Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory, and I was totally there for it!

The show is simple in concept. Three cooks battle each other as they transform and reimagine mundane ingredients and well-known dishes. Three judges (‘the gods’) will descend to judge their dishes with the best cook winning a magical golden apple. It’s very Willy Wonka meets Chopped.

I don’t typically get too into cooking shows, but this one sparked my interest because of the beautiful atmosphere. I think the host Jayde Adams really made this stand out the most. She was rambunctious with a healthy dose of self-deprecation, and I lived for her little jokes and funny comments along the way. The gods/judges are well known for their impressive careers and critiquing skills with food, but to be honest the interesting cooks we got to see on the show really made all the difference.

I always picked one out and rooted for them, even though most of the time I was wrong. So sad! But I had so much fun along the way and binged this in a couple of days, usually as I ate dinner or snacked on something yummy.

This season was short, just six episodes, so if you’re looking for a cooking show that is fresh, stunning, and just flat-out entertaining, give this one a try!

PS: A second season has yet to be confirmed, but I am crossing my fingers!

Final Score

8/10
