Series Review: Unsolved Mysteries, Season One (Netflix)
Series Blurb:
Immersive, character-driven stories are rooted in the experiences of ordinary people who have lived the unthinkable. Families, detectives and journalists hope viewers hold the clues to solving these mysteries.
My Review:
Unsolved Mysteries became something of a phenomenon when the first series aired in 1987. I watched as a kid, always creeped out by the theme music, but loving the stories. So when I saw a reboot of the documentary series, you better believe I was jumping for joy!
I wasn’t disappointed with this first season. True to its original concept, Unsolved Mysteries’ first season back featured six episodes of crime, disappearances, and paranormal phenomenon. Each story really stood out and had me hooked, some of them bringing up important questions on social issues and true crime.
Like most people, I didn’t have any additional information to give in these cases, but I do love that Unsolved Mysteries is continuing to be a call to arms for those who may have information in relation to a case and haven’t spoken up yet. Please do speak up if you have any information on the cases they are covering.
Ultimately this was a great reboot of the series, and its journey isn’t over yet! Later this year, a volume 2 of this season will come out, meaning more episodes! For the current details that are known, click here.
I fully recommend checking this one out. Happy Watching!
