Series Review: Glow Up, Season Two (Netflix)

Series Blurb:

A talented group of aspiring make-up artists attempt to prove their potential to industry professionals in this competition hosted by Stacey Dooley.

My Review:

After watching season one of Glow Up, I was overjoyed when the second season came out shortly after (for me, anyways). This show is a makeup competition where makeup artists get to express their creativity through a number of challenges.

As usual the artists were great, each unique in their approach to art. The challenges felt fresh and were extremely entertaining. I especially loved one that happened in the water.

I liked this season a bit better than the first, mainly due to the slight change in judging. Before, I made a stink about how the eliminations were made solely on an artist’s performance in the face off segment (usually 15 mins or less).

However, the judges did make a small improvement and would look back on recent pieces the artist had done to make a final assessment of who should stay when they couldn’t come to an agreement. I think this made the competition much more fair and ensured those that didn’t deserve to stay were sent home at the right time.

This was a great continuation of the series, and I hope to see many more seasons come out in the future. Highly recommend this fun show!
