WWW Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I just got back from my writer’s retreat and didn’t wanna miss out on today’s post, so here I am! 🙂

Every Wednesday I participate in a meme called WWW Wednesday.

This meme is a challenge where you simply share what you’re reading, what you’ve recently finished, and what you hope to read in the near future.

www

The meme is currently handled by Taking On A World of Words, and anybody can participate.

Simply read the 3 W questions below and answer them should you want to:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading:

Blurb:

Rowan has gone rogue, and has taken it upon himself to put the Scythedom through a trial by fire. Literally. In the year since Winter Conclave, he has gone off-grid, and has been striking out against corrupt scythes—not only in MidMerica, but across the entire continent. He is a dark folk hero now—“Scythe Lucifer”—a vigilante taking down corrupt scythes in flames.

Citra, now a junior scythe under Scythe Curie, sees the corruption and wants to help change it from the inside out, but is thwarted at every turn, and threatened by the “new order” scythes. Realizing she cannot do this alone—or even with the help of Scythe Curie and Faraday, she does the unthinkable, and risks being “deadish” so she can communicate with the Thunderhead—the only being on earth wise enough to solve the dire problems of a perfect world. But will it help solve those problems, or simply watch as perfection goes into decline?

Opinion so far:

Technically I haven’t even started this book, but it’s definitely my next read. As an added bonus it’s a buddy read with Gigi, hooray!

Recently Finished:

Blurb:

Arlen Hall is known to be troublesome, but that doesn’t stop one author from purchasing the estate the moment it goes on the market.

With her history tied to the manor house’s past and her heart tied to a man who died within its walls, the writer has devoted her life and her savings to owning the estate.

But when she moves in, the ghost of the man she’s determined to love plays hard to get. It’s only when she confronts him that she realizes Arlen Hall’s secrets should have remained in the grave.

The Ghost of Arlen Hall delivers a chilling ghost story in the gothic tradition. Feeling brave enough to cross the threshold of Arlen Hall? Pick up your copy today!

Opinion so far:

Okay, so I finished this read on my writer’s retreat, but I haven’t had the chance to post a review. Sorry about that! I’ll be working on releasing one soon and getting all caught up. That being said, this was a fun read that I enjoyed, so stay tuned!

Next on my TBR:

Opinion so far:

With Halloween just over a month away, I’m gearing things in that direction with my reading choices.

Up first on my TBR is more Animorphs! Freaky alternate reality? Sign me up! I love how the Megamorphs books tackle crazy scifi plots like this.

After that it’s time for more chilling stories by Travis Liebert (check out my interview with him here) . I’ll be reading his paranormal/horror anthology The Anomaly Archives.

Last but certainly not least is Let The Right One In. I’ve seen both film adaptations (the original is better, fight me on it!) but never got around to reading it, so I placed a hold on it at my library. Fingers crossed I get it in a decent amount of time!

Wish me luck on my reading conquests!

That’s a Wrap!

Okay folks, that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.

What does your reading pile look like? Have you read any of the books on my list? Do you have any opinions or feedback on the books I chose? Feel free to share in the comments, and don’t forget to subscribe or follow my bookish journeys!

Happy Reading Everyone!

    • Thanks, good to be back!

Yeah, the cover is stunning I must say.

Hopefully I’ll be able to post a review today or tomorrow. I’ve got some health stuff to attend to. Blech!

  1. Welcome back!! Hope you enjoyed your writing retreat and got a lot of writing/editing done. Unfortunately not a whole lot of reading is getting done over here. Pretty much all month I have been in a reading slump and it sucks because I want to read but I can’t find the motivation to read or I am being distracted by other things.

    • Thanks friend! 🙂 it was a fun little detour for my week.

I’m sorry things aren’t getting back on track as fast as you’d like. Maybe try some new activity? Sometimes doing something totally outside your typical routine can be super inspirational. I wanna go on more hikes once the weather is a smidge nicer
