WWW Wednesday
Happy Hump Day Everyone!
I hope you’re having a good week so far and are making healthy safe choices day to day. I’m running a little low on time today, so let’s get right into things!
Every Wednesday I participate in a meme called WWW Wednesday.
This meme is a challenge where you simply share what you’re reading, what you’ve recently finished, and what you hope to read in the near future.
The meme is currently handled by Taking On A World of Words, and anybody can participate.
Simply read the 3 W questions below and answer them should you want to:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading:
Blurb:
Angela Carmichael feels like an imposter in her idyllic neighborhood. Surrounded by seemingly perfect families, Angela is just doing her best to stay afloat as a single mother and freelance writer. But when a neighborhood boy goes missing, and danger seems to lurk behind every white picket fence, Angela becomes determined to uncover the secrets and lies of her community in order to keep her daughter safe.

Opinion so far:
Right now I’m just over 80% through this quick read, and I’m enjoying it! There’s a consistent element of mystery in this suburb and I like the main character and her struggles.
I should be finishing this one today, so keep your eyes peeled!
Recently Finished:
Blurb:
Monsters are real. And they steal children.
A young girl disappears without a trace.
The police have no clue as to what might have happened.
The severed family is thrown into despair as weeks go by, and still no sign of her.
The girl’s older brother begins looking for her on his own.
Soon he becomes convinced that a supernatural being has taken her.
Unfortunately, it turns out he’s right …

Opinion so far:
This was a surprisingly good read. A sister’s disappearance, a ghost in a library, a monster on the loose. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend checking this book out if YA Paranormal is your thing.
Book Review: The Girl Who Wasn’t There
Next on my TBR:
Opinion so far:
I know, I know. Only two books on my upcoming reads? What’s wrong with me? Well honestly, nothing. Right now I’m at another crossroads. I had a backlog of reading to do for the month and this is the last of it. After I complete these reads I’ll be reassessing what’s on my Kindle and on my shelves before picking some more stellar reads out!
Up next on my TBR is another Animorphs read. I’ve got cautiously optimistic high hopes for this one. Let’s just hope it’s not a disaster. Crossing my fingers!
After that I’m going to finish reading the Scythe series in its last book The Toll. Though Gigi decided not to continue on with the series I’m hopeful that this book will redeem the second one’s not so awesome performance.
That’s a Wrap!
Okay folks, that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.
What does your reading pile look like? Have you read any of the books on my list? Do you have any opinions or feedback on the books I chose? Feel free to share in the comments, and don’t forget to subscribe or follow my bookish journeys!

Can you believe Suburban Secrets is Harmon’s debut novel? I was impressed.
Yeah, it is very well written for a debut novel. Shes got a bright future ahead of her!
I haven’t read any of these but I do want to read the Scythe trilogy. We are almost halfway through the month and I haven’t finished anything. I have about 30 pages left in Alpha’s Revenge and I have to get that finished ASAP.
Oh, it’s a fun series I think you’ll like. 🙂
It’s okay, you have plenty of time!
The audiobook for at least the first one is on Scribd. I probably want read it this year but maybe I can read it next year.
I was hoping to catch up to my goodreads goal but that’s not looking possible right now.
Oh I wonder how good the narration is. I bet it’s awesome.
Dont beat yourself up about it. It’s about enjoying the reads more than anything, and if you’re not in the right head space right now that’s okay.
Oh I’m not beating myself up I was just looking forward to reading 100+ books for the 3rd year in a row.
Oh I gotcha. Yeah, that’s a tough hurdle. I technically beat 100 last month but I’m also counting short stories that take little to no time for me to burn through, and I’ve read probably 20 of those this year, maybe more.
In 2018 and 2019 I read 119 books I will be lucky to reach 100 this year. I’ve currently read 81 books and I’m 5 books behind schedule. I count everything I read no matter how short or long it is it’s still reading.
Dang, go you! That’s still quite the accomplishment. 🙂
True it’s just fun to try and reach 100. 2028 was the first time I ever read 100+ books and I never thought I’d be able to do that.
Oh believe me, I hear you there. This is my best reading year to date.
That’s awesome!! How are you doing with recovery?
Most of the pain is gone now. Just dealing with inflammation and ibuprofen is just not doing it
Glad the pains gone at least. Hopefully you will get the inflammation under control.
Yeah all I can do is keep taking more pain pills for it. The doctor wont give me anything despite me clearly stating the problem. So annoying.
Yeah that is annoying.
Exactly! It’s not like what I’m suggesting is a narcotic either. But it’s okay, my slower recovery is on them lol
Yeah you would think since it’s not a narcotic they would be more inclined to help. Are you having to miss work for this or are you working from home?
I have no idea what their thought is, but they’ve been sending me mixed signals so I’m just kinda over it.
I already work from home and ran out of pto so I had to work through the pain. Only had operation day off
Yeah I don’t blame you for being over it and that sucks that you had to work through the pain. I guess the only plus is that you were able to do it from home but idk how much better that actually made it.
Yeah, at least the worst is over. At first being at home was for the better but now I need to start getting out and having some semblance of exercise.
The Toll was an interesting ending to that trilogy. While I agree that book two was not my favorite book three is something all of its own. I don’t want to spoil anything but if you do end up reading it I will be excited to read what your opinion is.
Oh, thanks for the vote of confidence in that third book of the series! It is the biggest book of them all, so I have high hopes there will be plenty of sudden plot twists to keep me happy.
I’ll definitely be posting once I’m through with it. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
