Book Review: Christmas Party Demon (Totally Freaked! #4)

Happy Holidays, Readers!
Oh wait, I’m way off schedule! Although we’re a long way off from Christmas, I couldn’t resist continuing the Totally Freaked! series with Christmas Party Demon (Totally Freaked! #4) by Wendy Dalrymple.
This is the sequel to Birthday Party Demon (my review here), so I skipped the next two because I loved the first one so much.
Shall we see how it went? Let’s go!

“With even more nostalgia, higher stakes, and twisted fun, it’s Mean Girls on steroids and a front-row seat to the cucumber-melon-scented joys of 90s girlhood.”
-V.S. Lawrence, author of 80s Ghosts & With Friends Like These
It’s been months since Tina’s Sweet 16 sleepover when she and her two best friends, Eve and Lacey, summoned a demon. Now possessed by the demon Zozo, Lacey has been tormenting teens and ruling Tropic Acres High under her new identity, Zoey.
As winter break approaches, Tina realizes more and more teens are falling under Zoey’s fashionable spell. She must exorcise the demon again.
She must get her friend back.
She must throw an epic…

The Review

Holy moly, this was a Christmas nightmare in the best of ways!
Half a year after their birthday party debacle, Tina and Eve are still trying to find a way to exorcise the demon Zozo from their bestie Lacey. Fellow students from their school are falling under Zozo’s influence fast, and if they want to ever get their friend back they’ll have to come up with something fast.
Wendy Dalrymple has struck lightning again! I loved all of the subtle 90s nostalgia in this book, and the Christmas theme was expertly handled.
Tina has some great character progression through this book, and I like the new characters I got to meet along the way. Eve, Deon, and Lance were great sidekicks, and their dialogue was super believable.
This book doesn’t hold back. Each chapter moves the story forward at a quick pace, and it really had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. If you’re looking for a great scary YA book, you’ve got to try this series out!
That’s A Wrap!
Well that’s it for this book review. Like what you see? Leave a tip!
