Weekly Progress Update!
Hi Everyone,
It’s that time again for a personal progress update on all things Jaunts & Haunts!
So this week has been just as crazy as all others, and I’m beginning to think that there really isn’t a time fix for how busy I’ve been. I’m still trying to find a balance between writing, posting on here, and reading. Currently, I don’t think I’ll be adding any new segments until I can get a handle on everything and sort it out. All in due time.
On the reading side, I am making progress, but not too much as I’m still adjusting after my move. My place feels like such a pigsty, and I’ve been trying to get things looking nice, but I can’t quite settle on anything just yet. I’m hoping to finish Nemesis #2, my current read, in a day or two.
On the writing side, things are progressing but slowly due to how thin I feel I’ve been spread lately. I’m in the middle of writing Chapter 6, and I’ve got about 14,500 words in (almost 60 pages). I’m getting close to the end of the first act in my sequel to Reaper , maybe two chapters left, then I’ll begin plotting out the second act.
The second act will be tricky, but I’m excited about it. I know what’s supposed to happen, but more world-building and connecting the dots will be my main challenge.
Since we’re on the subject, my debut novella Reaper has been out for six weeks, yay!
I know a lot of my friends have read the book, so if this includes you, don’t forget to write a review or leave a star rating when you’re done! If you haven’t read it, take a moment to check out my preview and see if the book is for you. What have you got to lose?
Well, that’s it for me, folks. How was your week? Are you working on a writing project at the moment? Have a great book recommendation? Tell me all about it!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
Hey!
So glad to hear that you’re still working hard on your projects. And, I know how stressful moving can be. I remember when me and my parents moved here to the place we’re living at now back in 2013. It was in the middle of summer and so hot. Then everything started going downhill. My dad had his very first seizure, which resulted in him having open heart surgery to fix his valve in 2014, then I had a major anxiety attack that left me going to the hospital (blacked out and fainted in the living room, hitting the corner of my eye on the fireplace). We think an energy drink was the cause of it. Never touching those again, haha.
I’m slowly working on my book as well. Started Ch 17 and about two paragraphs into it. Got this one, ch 18 and 19 pretty much planned out. Not sure how many chapters this thing is going to go to. Might stop at 19, might be 20, who knows? I just hope that when it’s released, it’s received well by readers and not bashed against just because it deals with sexual harassment and everything that’s been in the news. I’m thinking about giving it a read-through up to Ch 16, and see if it even grabs my attention, because if it grabs mine, then I’ll know it’ll hook others.
Talk to you soon!
J Lynn
Thanks for understanding friend! I’m trying to write at least 3-400 words a day during the week, and I can usually meet those goals.
Yeah, moving has been really stressful, and my roomie is out of town so I kind of feel alone in the whole thing at the moment.
Congrats on the progress of your book! Proud of you! You can do this, and I bet you’ll get some fans out of it for sure!
Aw, that sucks! It’s hard when you have no help. Sometimes I feel like I want to write, but then once I open it, I’m like, “Nah. I’ll go play Sims instead.” haha. Then I end up kicking myself in the ass later for not working on it. Thanks, I really appreciate the confidence boost! 😀
Yeah, it’s only temporary at least. When she gets back we can go through things together.
I hear you there. I schedule times to write and if it’s not scheduled I most likely won’t do it. I could stand to break my own rules from time to time.
