Weekly Progress Update!

Hi Everybody,

Hope you’ve all had a fun-filled week with all of the festivities going on.

Personally, my weeks had some ups and downs. I’ve been going through some stress that has been physically making me sick and there doesn’t appear to be an easy fix (per my doctor), so I’ve been doing my best not to stress myself out and to just enjoy my time away from work and everything else.

But I’ve also been getting back out there in the world and meeting new people, so that has been a positive.

Anywho, let’s get to the good stuff!

Books

On the reading side of things, I’ve been having issues with the current book I’m reading The Waking Forest.

I’m over halfway through with this book, but it will most likely be a two-star rating. Definitely keep your eyes peeled in the next day or so!

TV/Movies

On the watching side of things,  I mainly focused on all things Stranger Things given that the third season came out on the fourth of July.

I was totally blown away by how good season 3 was. They really upped the ante this time, and I can’t wait to see what they think of next!

While we wait on season 4, feel free to check out my review of season 2 or season 3. Both are definitely binge-worthy!

My Writing (Camp Nano)

On the writing side of things, its been a pretty mixed bag this week.

As you know, I decided to join Camp Nano at the last minute. Welll, I haven’t quite kept up with my hour goals for the week (about 5 hours instead of like 7 that I should have). While I’m a little disappointed in myself, I’m only human and since I’m dealing with physical sickness I may have to lower my goal back to 31 hours for the month instead of 40.

It’s too soon to tell, so for now there’s not much else to do but keep on trucking, and there have been some great developments so far.

I worked on polishing up my rough draft of the first act and making it a first draft. So far I have confronted some smaller issues that I had with my sequel, and it’s going really well. I’m currently in Chapter 3 out of the 8 that I’ve written so far, and I’m not really taking out much.

While I am polishing, I am also plotting out the second act. I have to say, I have quite a butt load to do on the second act. I mean, its staggering. But the good thing is that I have 3 additional chapters vaguely plotted out. I wish I could go into more detail, but I simply can’t without ruining everything. There’s just more research and envisioning that I have to do on this part of the journey that will take some serious elbow grease.

I’m hoping in the next week to keep on keeping on and not let the stress of writing on a deadline get to me. Wish me luck!

As for my other published work, sign up is still going on for the blog tour of my first novella Reaper in August.

  1. Well, at least the writing is going forward – isn’t that what matters? I’ve seen that book around somewhere – mostly mixed reviews.
Will keep an eye open for your thoughts on it.

    • Yeah, very true! Even if it takes me longer than I expect, at least I’m working towards it.

The book is getting better, I just didn’t care for the first half.
