Weekly Progress Update! (100th Post!)

Howdy Folks, and happy Sunday!

Dropping in like usual for a weekly update on me and the craziness that is my life.

First things first, this post is very special because it’s my 100th post!

yay
Jk, there’s no champagne. 🙁

I’ve been on WordPress since April, meaning I’ve been posting a lot in such a short time. I’m enjoying the content I get to share with everyone, and I have really loved making some new friends on here. That being said, let’s get to business!

On a personal note, this week hasn’t been too bad. I’ve still got my stress issue down pat, and when I feel it creeping up on me I get up and take a walk for a while to clear my head. I got a lot of time to hang out with some friends this weekend, so that’s a pretty big positive.

I started reaching out to book bloggers again for reviews of my debut novella (something I’m ashamed to say has not been happening since Nano) and hope to get more eyes on it soon.

Things seem to be a tad calm lately, so I’m riding that wave.

Books

On the reading side of things, I finished two books this week, Carnage in Singapore by Randall Krzak and Poisonous by Tommy B. Smith.

Both books I enjoyed immensely, and I’m already doing well on my August reading TBR.

Pretty proud of myself right about now.

TV/Movies

On the watching side of things, I’m off to a good start for the month. I watched the first season of Another Life on Netflix in just four days.

This means I obviously loved it and am now sad that I don’t have other new Netflix shows to watch that I’m instantly drawn to. Won’t you pretty please recommend something awesome for me to check out?

Poor, poor Jonny has no shows to watch

It doesn’t have to be scary or scifi!

My Writing

On the writing side of things, Camp Nano is finally over as of Wednesday (though I finished on Tuesday)! I have to say, thank goodness! This time around it felt kind of annoying, but I stuck to my guns and finished my goal of plotting out the second act and polishing the first written act of my sequel to Reaper.

Since Nano ended, I’ve been taking a little more time to read. I just feel the want to read more than write at the moment, and I’m embracing it. The last thing I want is to stress myself out or worse, get writer’s block because I’m forcing myself to write too much.

That being said, I am currently going back to my second act and fleshing it out more, trying to smooth out the cracks in the plotting. I technically finished my second act in Camp Nano, but it was a simple, vague plot. There are a lot of small things I still need to do, and big ones too. In time, it will get done, but I’m happy with the speed I’m going at.

My Other Published Work

Speaking of all things Reaper, I’d like to remind everyone that I’ve got a blog tour coming for the first book in my series in late August.

I’m always happy to see everyone’s opinion of my work, and if you’d like to get involved it’s still not too late. You can click here or check out R&R Book Tours.

As always, you can check out my debut novella Reaper here before the blog tour (there’s a free preview).

That’s a Wrap!

Well, that’s it for my week. How was yours? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by my personal universe, and Happy Sunday!
