Series Review: Watchmen, Season One (HBO)

watchmen

Series Blurb:

Set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name, while attempting to break new ground of its own.

My Review:

Characters

five-star-rating-md

Vivid, memorable, all with dark and troubled pasts.

Plot

fourstars

Overall pretty great, though there were minor things that felt like they kind of took us too far away from the main storyline.

Flow

fourstars

Again, overall it was a pretty well-paced journey, but there were several episodes that felt like fillers that left me wanting more.

Overall Impression

I was a huge fan of Watchmen the movie, so when I heard about this I was stoked! I love the gritty, unforgiving world I was taken to, and it seems like everyone has the same question on the brain. Where is Doctor Manhattan?

There was a plethora of action, adventure, and dark and deadly secrets are revealed at the end of every part of the journey. Though not every episode shined as brightly as I would’ve wished, the overall experience was really great and I’m glad I watched this.

Final Score

7.5/10
