Weekly Progress Update!
Happy Sunday Funday World,
How’s everything going? I hope you’re getting a good start to your new year and keeping productive.
My first week in the new year went pretty well if I do say so myself. The crazy amount of OT at work is about to lessen, so I’m super happy about that and having more time to myself.
I also stuck with my resolutions so far. I’ve managed to write every day and Saturday was my off-the-grid day, so besides errands I absolutely had to run, I didn’t leave the house. And honestly, it felt great!
Fingers crossed for an easy breezy new year!
Books
This week was really great for books!
I read All Systems Red by Martha Wells, The Need for Air by Lettie Prell, and Animorphs #17, The Underground by K.A. Applegate.
Ironically, all books had a scifi edge, but I really loved each and every one of them. Not a single one below four stars! I’d call that a win. If you’re interested in any of these, check out my review links below.

TV/Movies
My watches for the week was great too. I watched The Witcher, Season One on Netflix.
I was a little leery at first since I’ve gravitated away from high fantasy in recent years, but this was a real gem. Definitely worth checking out!
My Writing
Like I said before, I stuck to my resolution by writing/plotting every day.
During the week, I wrote a total of 1,885 words before I hit the end of Chapter 22 and what I had plotted out. That’s a total of 62,412 words so far (just about 250 pages, yay!) for the sequel.
So I continued forward on Saturday and got the first scene chiseled out. Now I’m trying to determine how I want the rest of the chapter to play out, but that shouldn’t take me long.
Now I’m entering another plotting phase, the last one for the second act of my sequel! This last stretch will most likely be four chapters (based on how I’ve foreseen things, then I’ll be done with that and can work on the last and final act along with epilogue.
The light at the end of the tunnel is definitely shining, and brightly!
That’s a Wrap!
All right, that was it for my week. How did yours go? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Anything interesting you’d like to share?
Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!
Thanks for stopping by everyone, and Happy Sunday!

We have The Witcher on our to-watch list, and I just finished a science fiction novel called Entanglement by Gerald Kilby. It was pretty good with hard science and action. It was a buddy read with Dear Husband, so we’re going to read the second book in the series together, too. It’s called Entropy.
Sounds like your sequel is coming along! I wrote 6 out of 7 days this week . . . heh-heh, but today’s not over yet!
Ooo, definitely give it a try! Youd like it I bet.
Oh nice! I just checked it out on my goodreads and added to my tbr. It instantly intrigued me. Thanks for the recommendation!
Yeah, its getting there. I’m just at the point again where I have to replot for a week or two.
Oh, that’s great! Yeah I just got done doing some more plotting. Go us for staying on top of it!
I only managed to finish one book this week and that was The Gunslinger by Stephen King. I started off the year watching Bumblebee which I thought was cute. Bumblebee was always my favorite character in the Transformers movies and I loved seeing him in his own movie and learning about him.
Oh nice, I loved The Gunslinger!
Would you recommend Bumblebee? I haven’t seen that one.
I thought it was an ok start to the series. My review will be going up Friday I think. I will be continuing on with the series very soon.
Yes I would. It’s not perfect but some of the scenes with bumblebee were just so cute and funny.
Yeah, very gritty and desolate feeling as far as I can recall.
Haha, that sounds like a nice departure from my bloody norm
Yeah just not a whole lot happened in this book but there was something about it that pulled me in and made me want to keep reading it.
It has a lot of action but my favorite parts were the cute parts with bumblebee. They were just funny and unexpected.
Yeah, that’s one of Kings better books I think.
I’m down for the cuteness!
