Movie Review – Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
Series Blurb:
On Halloween 1968, reclusive Stella and her two friends meet a mysterious drifter, Ramón, and uncover a sinister notebook of stories.
My Review:
Characters
There wasn’t really a character I didn’t like. Though simple, I liked them all and enjoyed following their journeys.
Plot
The plot was pretty simple, but really creepy at the same time. Definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Flow
Overall, the flow of the movie stuck with the main plotline. Can’t really complain here.
Overall Impression
This movie was a lot of fun! You’ve got Stella and her friends on Halloween night doing some pranks, leading them to meet Ramon. From there they visit a haunted house and find a scary book of stories. But soon the book starts writing scary stories before their very eyes, and it’s got sights on people they know in town.
I watched this on a bored Saturday night with my roommate. This movie was pretty solid. I cared about the characters, the plot was creepy and took us on several memorable stories from the old novels, and it all flowed nicely.
Though the movie was a lot of fun, I wasn’t completely blown away by it, but it is worth a watch if you want some classic scares to keep you up at night.
Final Score
7.5/10

Ei-yi-yi, that creature on the movie cover! This sounds like a fun movie to watch with all the lights out.:-)
I know right? That creature was definitely one of the scariest in the movie!
It’s definitely entertaining, that’s for sure.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie. I really enjoyed it.
Me too. Definitely a great movie!
